DiGi APN settings (is always either

I having android (Eclair 2.1) phone from USA, is Samsung Captivate. It has problem to setup APN to work fine for "both" MMS and internet.
I can EITHER to get MMS work OR internet work, but not both. Please advise. There are 2 different sets of APN settings (1 is for internet, another 1 is for MMS) :

Name = DIGI Data - Internet
APN = diginet
Proxy = Not Set
Port = Not Set
Username = Not Set
Password = Not Set
Server = Not Set
MMSC = Not Set
MMS proxy = Not Set
MMS port = Not Set
MMC = 502
MNC = 16
Authentication type = None
APN type = internet
========================
Name = DIGI MMS (WAP 2.0)
APN = digimms
Proxy = 203.092.128.160
Port = 80
Username = mms
Password = mms
Server = Not Set
MMSC = http://mms.digi.com.my/servlets/mms
MMS proxy = 203.092.128.160
MMS port = 80
MMC = 502
MNC = 16
Authentication type = None
APN type = mms

With the above settings, my Captivate can browse internet, but cannot send MMS.
Then if I try to use different setting (below) then I can send MMS without problem, but I cannot internet.

The 2 changes made to get MMS work are:
1) APN type = internet + mms
2) Tick/mark the "DIGI MMS (WAP 2.0)" as the selection.
Every time I made changes to APN settings, I restart the phone.

With this changes, it can MMS but then the internet cannot work.
And the browser will show error : Access denied. 403 Forbidden - You are not allowed to communicate with the requested resource.
Please advise. Thanks.

[addedon]February 19, 2011, 3:53 pm[/addedon]This is just to update about my new finding and I would like to share it will you here.

########################################################################

I have been trying so many times on the APN setttings for DiGi MMS & Internet, but my MMS sending issue is not resolved...
UNTIL I upgrade to Andromeda 1.0 Custom ROM, and now I can send & receive MMS as well as internet

Model Number : SAMSUNG-SGH-I897   Firmware Version : 2.2
Baseband version : I9088ZNKP1   Build Number : Andromeda.Version 1.0

Settings >> Wireless and Network >> Mobile Networks
[Use packet data] = Tick
[Access Point Names] >> "New APN"

Name = DIGI Internet
APN == diginet
Proxy == Not Set
Port == Not Set
Username == Not Set
Password == Not Set
Server == Not Set
MMSC == Not Set
MMS proxy == Not Set
MMS port == Not Set
MMC == 502
MNC == 16
Authentication type == None
APN type == internet

------------------------------------------
Then create another "New APN"

Name == DIGI MMS
APN == digimms
Proxy == 203.092.128.160
Port == 80
Username == mms
Password == mms
Server == Not Set
MMSC == http://mms.digi.com.my/servlets/mms
MMS proxy == 203.092.128.160
MMS port == 80
MMC == 502
MNC == 16
Authentication type == PAP or CHAP
APN type == mms

=======================================

HTC Desire - battery life, how poor?

Yes, smart phone's battery life is not lasting compare to those are not smartphone, and it also getting worse when it has a bigger screen, its application running -- resulting it cannot last until night.

With the similar usage of HTC Desire compare to other smartphone (eg. iPhone..etc), I am wondering why many people and the resellers also give comment that HTC phones have very poor standby/talktime, battery is not lasting...etc. is it true? how poor is it ?

I do not really like to play games on phone, but I would use a lot on MSN or YM, internet browing, emailing and twittering. I like touchscreen (multitouch), Android, so, is it suitable for me.

Car falling On other Side, when make turning

I am sorry that I not good in english when i need to describe something if is not IT related.

Before changing my car from Proton Wira to MyVi, I used to drive rather fast even if making a turning (right or left side), I even can increase my speed during turning.

But after I have changed to MyVi, without any modification, whenever I make turning, I can feel that my car is almost over-turn (falling on the other side). For example, when I turn to left with increasing of speed, I can feel that my car is going to fall on the right side, and i have to slow down. Unlike I do it the same on Wire, i do not have that feeling, even if speeding.

At first, I though i still not get use to the new MyVi, I have been driving with my new MyVi for about 1 year, and i still have that feeling.

Please advise me if I going to do some modification (lowering the height of my car) so that my MyVi is shorter, does this help?

I do not wish to speed do much of money to do too many modification, but I just want to have a driving comfortable when speeding when making turning. Please advise and many thanks in advance.

Re-size C: partition on Dell Server

Could you please advise the best way to re-size the C: partition?

The Dell PowerEdge Server has previously configured with C: drive/partition is about 12GB and remaining is for D: partition. Currently the C: drive is running very low available free disk space (about 1GB), but D: drive still have plenty of space which more 100GB.

There are many third party software tools (eg. partition magic) which can do the re-size of partition, but we are still uncomfortable with those tools as there are mainly and suitable for desktops or laptops, we doubt if those tools are working fine for server, simple because the SCSI or RAID controller may not able to allow those tools to do the job perfectly.

We are very worry if those tools crash the entire storage system and causing server cannot function or cannot start-up. Also because we do not have a good backup software to restore back to original state (before the using those tools).

BTW, the server is running Windows Server 2003 Standard edition.

Please advise, Many thanks in advance.

domain name end with .my can buy from locally only

Last month I was trying very hard to get a domain name ended with .my (for example, .com.my .net.my .org.my or just .my) from any hosting company registered in oversea or I just able to find a domain resellers who are not registered in Malaysia.

Is true for the above statement ?

Why I prefer to get .my domain name from oversea, because I have experienced a domain reseller who provide me the unlock or the key for me to do domain transfer. I purchased the hosting services together with the .my domain name and then when near to expiration, the resellers do 'sound' wiling to provide the unlock code, and delay it, until my domain name expired. so, sad...

So, another reason, is that I need very long process & procedures to purchase the domain name and long time to wait for it to be ready, including the long waiting for its DNS propagated globally.

Another reason, .my domain name resellers do not provide free DNS hosting, and it added extra cost and some other resellers ask me to use zoneedit.com for DNS purpose - which i do not trust its reliability.

Some people told me that if I want to get .my domain name for a company, I need to submit the company registration form (Form 9, 13, 49...etc). but also some people also told me that MyNIC has dropped such requirement, is it true ??

NOTE: www.mynic.net.my has been renamed and now redirect to www.domainregistry.my -- they advise me to buy .my domain name from the malaysia registered companies only

About HTTPS and digital certificates

For a company webserver to have secure communication with any public external clients, using https way.

The server must buy the cert from CA and install Root Certificates into the webserver. Also the webserver need to load the private key given by the CA, How do CA sending/deliver the private key ? Does the CA deliver the private key securely ?

otherwise the webserver can generate the self-signed cert and the public key. Because of this, all those public/remote clients will need to do extra steps to import the cert coming from the webserver before they can 'talk' to each other securely.

So, for any public clients to trust a webserver, he/she must not simply import the certicate before logon to the website.

but if the untrusted/hacker webserver, they may also buy the keys/certs from the commercial CA, then it is to say that, remote clients may still end-up to logon to those untrusted websites.

To avoid this, how does the commercial CA to know whether a webserver is trustable ? Will those CA (VeriSign) revoke the digital certicates when they found out the webserver cannot be trusted ? Since VeriSign has received money from those webservers, do they really stop them and revoke their certicates ?

Please advise me if my understanding is not correct. I always confuse whether I need to deal with PKI things.

Thank you.

Just that the CIMBClicks.com.my may not offer an easy way to transfer money from CIMB account to DA account since both banks are using different computer system?

I have called DirectAccess customer service, and they told everything can,... can this lah, can that lah... but I still not comfortable about the reply, and I am writing here to check with you all.
Is that any bad feedback about getting the DA Premier Plus Account? Please advise. Many thanks.
Still need to pay deposit, even with Medical card

There are 2 issues I wish you all can clarify me, it is about the Medical Insurance. I plan to buy insurance come with Medical card so that I can use it in private hospital (or any panel hospitals). I need to know whether it is true that, my insurance agent (from Prudential) told me, if I buy any insurance with medical card.

(1) In any insurance company, the medical card is just to show the hospital that I got insurance covered, but I (or my family member) still need to pay for the deposit, if I admit to hospital, otherwise the hospital will not proceed the treatment or surgery. But I always thought that, with Medical card, I can just to show it and forget it (I mean is to forget all the hassle up-front payment, and I can just proceed treatment)

(2) starting from year 2004, most of the insurance companies are practicing the ratio (partial of the medical-related expenses - are required to be paid by the patient). As for Prudential, minimum of RM300 or 10% of medical fee is payable by the patient.
For example, if the ratio is 90:10, then the patient need to pay 10% of the medical related expenses, and the 90% is by insurance company. So, is to say that, insurance companies no longer offer to pay in full for medical expenses, of course is still within the limit of the policy.
Is it true that they are practicing like this ?

I can install SAV, Symantec Antivirus 10.x Unmanaged Clients for any computers have no connection to SAV server, and the clients can continue being protected from virus, because unmanaged SAV clients can automatic download virus-definition file on their own whenever they connected to internet.

I am wondering how does Symantec company can determine if any people misuse it, because unmanaged SAV installation do no need any product/license key.

May I know is there any expired date/valid period of using this SAV clients without any restriction for LiveUpdate for those computers?

I concern, because I worry if all my Unmanaged SAV clients become unprotected from virus, after used for some period of time, even if we buy sufficient SAV licenses to cover all those unmanaged clients.

Thank you.
