AMD problem with USB

Hi guys, recently my AMD laptop having problem with external USB drive i.e. keep disconnecting sounds like power cut off.
Did a bit of research online, just knew AMD machines are notorious for USB power management problem.
Currently thought of upgrading my home machine to ryzen 7 9700x to replace by old i7-8700 (shown its age already).
For those running AMD rigs is the USB problem still persist? or its only happening on laptops only.

Is it standard rule that PPKI kids cannot bring any sweet drinks?
My boy is going for his first day in primary school tomorrow and was told not allowed to bring any 'air berwarna' in short air orange etc. Since my boy is the type that doesnt like drinking plain water.
I always prepare his drinks with a little ribena, not too sweet.

SHAH ALAM: Seorang bekas eksekutif (Pembinaan) Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd (PCSB) didakwa lagi di Mahkamah Sesyen di sini hari ini atas 41 pertuduhan rasuah dan lima pengubahan wang haram berjumlah RM9.65 juta berhubung kerja-kerja penyelenggaraan.
Mohd Amal M. Razalan, 36, bapa kepada dua anak itu mengaku tidak bersalah selepas kesemua pertuduhan terhadapnya dibacakan di hadapan Hakim Rozilah Salleh.

Bagi pertuduhan pertama hingga ke-41, tertuduh didakwa menerima kesemua suapan tersebut berjumlah RM9.4 juta daripada empat individu iaitu Ketua Pegawai Operasi Synergy Spectular Sdn Bhd, Mohd Hakimin Mohd Zubir; Pengarah Faltech Engineering Sdn Bhd, Faisol Mustapha Idris; Pengarah Majestika Sdn Bhd, Mustaza Zawawi dan Pengurus Projek SAP Sdn Bhd, Robert Khoo melalui cek serta pindahan dalam talian dari akaun Maybank Berhad milik beberapa syarikat menerusi MGV Energy Sdn Bhd.

Pertuduhan dikemukakan mengikut Seksyen 16 (a)(A) Akta Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (SPRM) 2009 dibaca bersama Seksyen 28 (1) © dan boleh dihukum dengan Seksyen 24 akta sama yang membawa hukuman penjara maksimum 20 tahun dan denda tidak kurang daripada lima kali ganda jumlah atau RM10,000 mengikut mana-mana lebih tinggi, jika sabit kesalahan.
Mohd Amal juga didakwa atas lima pertuduhan menerima RM252,042.92 melalui beberapa akaun bank miliknya dan satu akaun Kad Kredit Korporat Maybank Berhad milik MGV Energy daripada akaun Maybank Berhad milik MGV Energy, yang kesemua wang berkenaan merupakan hasil daripada aktiviti haram.
Pertuduhan mengikut Subseksyen 4(1) (b) Akta Pencegahan Pengubahan Wang Haram dan Pencegahan Pembiayaan Keganasan (AMLATFPUAA) 2001, yang boleh dihukum di bawah subseksyen 4(1) akta sama, yang membawa hukuman penjara maksimum 15 tahun dan boleh didenda tidak kurang lima kali ganda jumlah atau nilai hasil daripada aktiviti haram atau RM5 juta, yang mana lebih tinggi, jika sabit kesalahan.
Kesemua perbuatan itu didakwa dilakukan di beberapa cawangan Maybank dan Hong Leong Bank di Shah Alam, Petaling Jaya serta Puchong, dekat sini antara 29 Ogos 2018 dan 18 Mac 2022.
Terdahulu, Timbalan Pendakwa Raya SPRM Datuk Wan Shaharuddin Wan Ladin memohon jaminan RM200,000 hingga RM300,000 dengan seorang penjamin bagi kesemua pertuduhan.
"Apa bentuk jaminan yang dikenakan seharusnya mencerminkan tahap keseriusan kesalahan dan jumlah jaminan yang ditawarkan itu adalah munasabah," katanya.
Peguam Datuk Hasnal Rezua Merican yang mewakili Mohd Amal memohon jaminan rendah dengan alasan anak guamnya telah dikenakan jaminan RM180,000 pada 4 Jan lepas di Mahkamah Sesyen Kuala Lumpur bagi lebih 40 pertuduhan.
"Saya mohon mahkamah mengambil kira semua aset anak guam saya telah dibekukan, penjamin perlu mencari sumber untuk membayar jaminan.
"Anak guam saya juga adalah penanggung utama keluarga, dia menanggung isteri, dua anak dan adik-beradiknya selain bapanya kini menghidap penyakit lumpuh kekal," katanya.
Menurutnya, tertuduh juga telah ditamatkan perkhidmatan dengan Petronas sejak Mei tahun lepas selain memberi kerjasama baik dengan pihak SPRM sepanjang siasatan dijalankan.
Mahkamah membenarkan tertuduh diikat jamin RM100,000 berserta seorang penjamin dengan RM70,000 dibayar hari ini dan selebihnya sebelum tarikh sebutan semula kes pada 30 Jan ini.
Pada 4 Jan lepas, lelaki itu didakwa atas 37 pertuduhan rasuah dan enam pengubahan wang haram melibatkan wang berjumlah lebih RM6 juta.

120 months bonus (Hyundai oilbank)

South Korean Oil & Gas Company Announces 120 Months In Bonuses For Employees

With 2022 wrapped, most companies would now be tabulating how much to award their employees in bonuses.

For those that have performed well, their staff can usually look forward to a generous payout, as was the case for Sheng Siong in 2020.

2022 was a good year for the oil and gas industry, as global oil prices surged due to various factors.

Now, the employees of Hyundai Oilbank are about to reap the rewards as the company just announced that it will be giving out 120 months in bonuses.

The amount dwarfs that of shipping company Evergreen, which recently made headlines for announcing bonuses of up to 52 months.

Hyundai Oilbank reported 226% profit jump in 3rd quarter alone
According to The Korea Herald, Hyundai Oilbank saw its profits increase by 226% in the third quarter of 2022 alone.

From that, the South Korean petroleum and refinery company generated S$2.9 billion (2.8 trillion won) in profits.

As it result, its employees were given 1,000% of their annual salaries, or 120 months’ bonus pay.

hile Hyundai Oilbank did not reveal the specific amount of bonuses it handed out, its employees reportedly received bonuses at a 600% rate in 2021.

This worked out to be an average of about S$764,000 (726 million won) per person.

The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and its coalition of oil-producing nations also recently decided to maintain a policy to cut oil production by 2 million barrels a day.

This has led to a decrease in supply, thus driving up the global oil price further.

Other major oil & gas companies expected to announce similar bonus rates
Three other major petroleum and refinery companies – SK Energy, S-Oil, and GS Caltex – will announce bonuses soon as well.

An anonymous company official from a major oil refiner stated that while the amount is not yet finalised, it is expected to be similar to Hyundai Oilbank’s.

In 2022, SK Energy and GS Caltex awarded employees 1,000% of their annual salaries.

Reminder for companies to reward employees accordingly
Without the tireless work of its employees, these companies would never be able to generate this much profit.

As such, it is only fitting to award their workers as generously as possible for getting them this far.

While it may not be realistic for every company to achieve this level of profitability, this will hopefully serve as a reminder that employees should not only be paid a fair wage, but duly compensated as well.

Chinese takeover of Aston Martin

Stroll steps up to the plate to block Chinese Geely aggressive moves in a bid to takeover the Aston Martin manufacturer and Formula 1 team. While the Chinese Geely wanted to buy Aston Martin, Lawrence Stroll increased his stake in the brand to block them.

In January 2020, the Canadian billionaire Lawrence Stroll bought Aston Martin by becoming the main shareholder via his consortium Yew Tree Overseas Limited. He took the opportunity to place his son Lance as the titular driver of the new Aston Martin Racing team in Formula 1 and now holds 28.29% of the brand’s shares, again via his consortium. The businessman has just increased his stake (previously 19%) by injecting more than 50 million pounds sterling (56.62 million euros).

According to Autocar, Lawrence Stroll has stepped up his stake to remain the majority shareholder of Aston Martin and to repel Geely’s attempt to buy it outright.

The Chinese manufacturer has owned 7.6% of the Gaydon-based brand since September 2022. And according to Bloomberg analysts, the Chinese giant was preparing a full takeover of Aston Martin. Lawrence Stroll recently turned down a £1.3 billion (€1.47 billion) offer from Geely to become the sole owner of Aston Martin.

Chinese takeover of manufacturers

Geely already owns the Volvo and Polestar brands as well as a 10% stake in the Daimler-Benz group. The Chinese giant also owns Lotus and is preparing to become co-owner of the new ‘Renault Horse division’.

As part of reported plans to separate itself into EV and internal combustion engine divisions, Renault is selling its engine-making division to Geely and an unnamed oil company. According to Reuters the Renault Group is planning to announce the split some time in the northern autumn.

The so-called “Horse” division will be based outside of France, and house the automaker’s petrol, hybrid and transmission production facilities across Europe (Spain, Portugal, Turkey, and Romania) and Latin America.

Reuters‘ two sources say Renault will retain a 40 per cent of this unit, while Geely will buy 40 per cent and the unnamed oil firm the remaining 20 per cent. All up this division is expected to directly employ around 10,000 people.

Geely is definitely looking aggressive on all fronts and with a serious intention to buy a real jewel with Aston Martin. But for the moment, Aston Martin is resisting.

Vehicle insurance third party coverage

Car accident scenario :

Vehicle A (2 year old car) caused accident and hit vehicle B (more than 10 year old car).

Both agree claim insurance from vehicle A, vehicle A masuk authorize workshop arranged by dealership while vehicle B masuk normal workshop.

Now vehicle B workshop say damage is alot and need RM xxxx more to do, however insurance say vehicle B is old car and insurance coverage is up to certain amount only.

Can the vehicle B owner personally ask vehicle A owner to pay? Since insurance coverage is maxed out for vehicle B.
