Recommendation for my AMD desktop

Hi all. I have an AMD set self-built quite a couple of years ago. Everything works well with the PC albeit a little slow when it comes to modern gaming requirement. Below are the specs:

CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 635 (2.9 Ghz).
MOBO: ASUS (can't remember its model) AM3+ socket.
RAM: 8GB DDR3
GPU: ASUS RADEON HD7750 1GB GDDR5
PSU: Cooler Master 450W Bronze
HDD: 500GB WD Black
Monitor: 43' Sony W800 LED TV in 1080p.

Based on the above spec, they are pretty old and it's good enough to play CS:GO in a small map (large map will cause lagging). Is this unit worth any upgrading? Looks like most of the items are obsolete right?

How much will I need to fork out for a decent gaming rig (which is good enough to play PUBG, CS:GO, COD:WW2, etc.)?

Appreciate any suggestions here. Cheers.

HELP~! Data in 2nd partition lost!

Good day to all bros...

I've recently re-installed my OS to XP Pro ("ahem" version) to one of my 160GB HDD, which is having 2 partitions (100GB for C:\ and 50GB for D:\).

Well apparently C:\ is for my OS installation, while D:\ is to occupy my own stuffs, which the capacity left only about 3GB (about 47GB used up).

Since I thought there's no relation to my D:\ in my OS installation as it's in different partition, so I did not do any data backup.

Hence after a clean installation of my OS, I continued to update to SP3.

Then only found out that my D:\ has totally wiped out.

The name of the partition was initially "D:\MiSC", and now it has become "D:\Local Disk" (if I could remember correctly).

And the weird thing is, the HDD capacity has changed and it says Total Space: 48GB, Free Space: 28GB.

But when I went into D:\, it's EMPTY!

So where the hell my files gone to? And why is the partition emptied while half of the capacity is occupied?

And how should I retrieve my gone files?

Please guys, I'm in serious need of your help here.

Was nearly fainted when noticed that the partition has been emptied for no reason~

Thanks in advance...

Nid help on FileZilla~

Hi to all ladies and gentlemen...

Recently I've registered a WordPress blog, and wanted to upload plugins to it.

Therefore I've opted FileZilla as it's pretty much recommended.

But the problem is I don't know how to setup the FileZilla.

It's seems that I have to enter:

HOST: (How do I know the host name or the IP address? How do I obtain it?)
Name: (Is this the name I used to login to my blog?)
Password: (My blog password as well?)

And other than that, I've tried on the setup wizard, but have no idea how to really tweak on it.

So guys, any idea?

Thanks!

Nid help~ New GC unable to hook up! Aaargh~

Hi to all...

Recently just bought a HIS HD4670 IceQ 512MB GDDR3 GC, and noticed 3 problems prior to installation.

1. The slot at the back of the casing is not suitable for my GC. If I would to plug in my GC, I would have to modify on the casing (cut some portion away), as there's totally no hole for dissipating the heat.

2. And moreover, there's one big blardy black-colored bracket (which holds the heat sink for the processor) screwed in the mobo, obstructing the GC.

3. In the mobo, the rear USB sockets and LAN wire socket are very near to my PCIe slot. I wonder whether my GC can sits properly or not.

The above mobo ain't look exactly the same as mine (took from Googling), but there are a few similarities, the PCIe is at the same location. The heat sink is different though, mine is with smaller heat sink but covered by a black colored hood, so the size of the hood is about the same as the heat sink in the picture.

For your info, I'm using Dell's PC, it's Dimension 5150. The mobo is Intel i945G/GZ. I understand that their mobo structure and design are at times a bit lousy due to limited space/slots. But I didn't know things would go as absurd as this case. I have no idea whether I should blame on the mobo, or me myself.

Would I have to change the casing/mobo/GC? Gosh that will burn another big hole in my pocket...

I desperately need you guys' help.

Thanks in advance.

HELP! GC upgrade...

Hi all...

Am having quite an old rig, bought from Dell, it's name's Dell Dimension 5150, with the below spec...

Processor Type: Intel Pentium D 2.66GHz
Processor Bus Speed: 533MHz
Processor L2 Cache: 2MB
RAM: 3GB DDR2 533MHz
Multiple Core Capable: Yes (Dual Core)
HyperThreading Capable: No
Motherboard: Dell DM051 (err... if I'm not wrong laa)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Pro SP3
PSU: No idea, it's originally fitted from Dell

Currently planning to upgrade the GC for gaming purpose. Though I'm not a hardcore gamer, but would like to at least play most of the general games. I came across with Gigabyte 9500GT (quoted RM 290), is this recommended for my requirement? Or any other models/brands you guys can recommend?

There are also some noob questions I hope you guys wouldn't mind to answer me:

1. Heard that DDR3 is "faster" than DDR2, is that so? Correct me if I'm wrong...
2. 128bits/256bits, what's the difference(s)?
3. OC means? Overclocked? Coz I saw 9500GT OC (if I'm not mistaken laa), hence is OC better in terms of performance?
4. Is 9500GT available in 1GB instead of 512MB? Heard that it's just RM 50 difference. If it exists, is it a better choice in terms of value for money?
5. What about ATi 4670? Is this GC on par with 9500GT?
6. And I came across with different brand names such as Gigabyte, Gainward, HIS, Palit, etc... Are they the same? What's the difference(s)?

Sorry for all the questions asked, as I really want to know more about GC before I buy any of them. Hope someone can answer to my queries.

Thanks alot!

Hi to all the sifus and otaiz~

Currently I'm planning to buy a SE P1i, to replace my aging old phone. Although I never try on any Symbian OS before, but it seems interesting. So before I do the purchase, would actually like to hear from you guys, any opinions or comments regarding this P1i? Heard ppl saying that the keys are tiny, kinda difficult to key in texts. Is that true? Any comments? Kindly advise... Thanks!
