hi all,

I have a question regarding the graphic card in question.

based on the image above the 6 ports seen are mini displayports (mini dp's) am i correct?

if so, i need to buy mini dp to vga adapters, but most of these are made for apple products.
can i use them for pc's?

from what a friend told me, mini dp was create by apple. he said shouldn't be a problem if i use them for a pc, but i just want more clarity on the issue thank you.

Output to 6 tv's using 1pc

hi there,

my company wants to monitor cctv's from 5-6 different locations in malaysia (i.e. johor, malacca, sabah, etc..). we have 6 lcd tv's setup for this.
my question is, is it possible for me to use 1 pc to output to all 6 tv's (each tv displaying cctv images of a different location)?
i know it depends on how many outputs my graphic card has, but is there a mechanism that would allow me to connect 6 tv's with separate outputs from 1 pc?

if there's no such mechanism, what are my alternatives?

let me know if you require further clarification, i'll try to explain the scenario as best as i can. thanks.

Compatibility

Hi, i'm planning to get a new laptop/notebook and was wondering if the current setup of laptops/notebooks compatible with Windows 7.
for example, a laptop made for vista, would it be compatible for Windows7? would it affect the laptop in any way?

i'm not a fan of vista, but that's what u get if u buy a new laptop nowadays. my main concern would be; should i wait till there's an official compatible laptop for Windows7 or would it be ok to get the laptop now and upgrade to Windows7 when it launches?

thanks.

Printing Issue

Hi all, I receive a message stating that "The printer cannot communicate with the printer" every time I try to print.

I've tried the solutions provided such as:-
- Disconnect and reconnect the printer's power cable.
- Disconnect and reconnect the USB cable.
- Restart the computer.

I've even uninstalled and reinstalled the driver.
At first I thought it was a spooler problem, but I've checked and it's not (could I be wrong? )

My printer model is Lexmark X2250 (it's a 3 in 1).
The thing is, I am able to use the scanner and save the scanned files, so I don't quite understand why the printer can't connect to the computer to print (if you need to know, the other function is copying, that works fine too).

Anything that I haven't done yet?
Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

LCD Monitor K.O

hope this is the right place to put this thread. anyways, i was just wondering...

Last year my house got stuck by lightning (my dad saw a flash of light in the living room when it happened), we lost 2 tv sets and 2 hifi systems. The funny thing is that my Monitor was also affected, but nothing else on about my pc was. Modem was plugged out, power was all off. Everything was ok (yes, mobo, ram and everything inside the pc was ok) except the monitor (it was fubar-ed).

Is it possible that the cause was a small EMP when the house was struck? If not, could anyone give me a proper reason to how this could have happened or their theory and explanation, thanks.

[addedon]April 25, 2008, 12:28 am[/addedon]no explanation for this?
