Can't view rmvb on Media Classic

Hi guys

Im not sure what's the problem, but I found out recently I can;t view .rmvb videos on my Media Classic Player

I dont have this problem previously, I can view almost everything on MCP last time ...

Now, whenever I play rmvb video, it will be kind of lagging and no audio at all ...

I remember once I had similar problem, it need some tweaking in the codec ...

**fyi, im using megalite codec, all default setting

Midrange or Mainframe ?

Hi all

Assuming that you were to choose between Midrange and Mainframe platform, which one will you go to ? I'm kinda in dilemma which one got better future prospect and learn more thing.

Afaik, midrange consist of OS such as Wintel and Open Source like Unix, Linux etc. It's more common and widely use among people regardless in company or corporation.
In term of Mainframe, its only operating in data center environment. So I'm thinking if I were to choose mainframe, would I have to stay rest of my life working in data center
Apart from that, I heard that mainframe engineer quite high demand too .. especially with skills like JCL, Cobol programming, Cics, their command and etc ...

Would like to hear more opinion from you guys ... I can't really decide as I need to know what will happend in like 5 years time

Can't view .AVI video .. only audio

Hi all

I have been regularly watching movies on my machine. However today I came across some kind of error when playing .avi movie.

Normally I would only watch .avi movie using Media Classic Player...
And Im using default setting for Klite MegaCodec ...

As usual, after finish download the movie I try to play but it shows some error instead ... I had tried to re-download twice . And my friend doesnt seem to have this problem

The error was:

"Could not render some of the Pin on the graph"

I have tried several other player and none work. Only able to hear audio but no graphic

Opinion on Data Centre job

Hi guys,

Mind to share your opinion on system operator/operation engineer/computer operator/data centre engineer (or whatever name) ?

Basically the main task is batch monitoring, backup, tapping, maintenance of data centre etc ...
Does this path provide a good prospect in IT line ?
Does it provide more experience in IT ? It sounds great when im exposed to mainframe and Unix
Where can I can jump in future if i choose this line ?

Weird Problem With Live Messenger

Hi all,

Im having some weird problem with my Window Live Messenger whereby I just notice it lately.

Here's the situation:

1) In my company, I added let say C to my msn. C did not receive any request or notification from me either. C tried to add me and I did not receive anything. But he can see me online.
We both working in same company.

2) I connect using web messenger, and we both can see each other online. Its not working with MSN Client only.I go back home and online, he's not in my list. And when I add him again, we both can see each other online.

3) Some of the message that my friend sent me via MSN does not come to me during in office.
Only <10% of the message will be missing.
However when I go back home, it will appear as offline message. The offline message is from morning ... it shouldn't be this way right ?

I did tried to repair, reinstall, remove all registry and install again my msn and it does not work ..
Im using Window Live 8.5

And im the only one getting this problem in my company ....and all using same proxy url... weird

Any idea how to resolve this issue ?

Zonealarm blocking all internet access

Hi all

Im currently having problem with my Zonealarm Firewall.

It seems like now my Zonealarm block all the internet access (refer to screenshot). It will block any outgoing access to any external site...
I have no choice but to shut down my zonealarm now

I did not do any changes to my Zonealarm since I install it ... and it working fine until today ...

I try to configure but looks like I only manage to set my IP to trusted zone. However it still block outgoing connection ...

Anyone having similar problem ? any solution for this

Hi all,

Got some enquiry regarding sharing folder on Windows XP.

1) How many way we could use to share file ? As I know there is only one way.

Right click on the folder > Sharing & Security > Share this folder on network

2) Assuming that got 4 people using same network connect same router, how do I share only to ONE person ?

3) I have window password protected, and my friend don't. My friend can access into my share drive by \\<my ip add>
However, when i try to \\<my friend ip add> , it prompt out a window asking for password.
No firewall or whatsoever among us ...

Urgent Advice, setup 2 router in 1 phone line

Hi all ...

Need some general advice on home networking setup.... hopefully to get some advice and opinion from all

Here's how it go :

There is only one streamyx and phone line in the house. Im planning to on my pc 24/7 but my housemate doesnt on his pc/router 24/7 due to lightning thingy...
So I plan to buy a router for my ownself and connect directly to the phone line. How do I go about that ?
I cant use to connect my router to his router cos he dont on 24/7 ... So i need to connect to the phone line in order to get streamyx 24/7

Here's my doubt :

1) Can i use the splitter to connect the phone line to 2 different router ? 1st to my router, 2nd to my housemate router.
2) So in conclusion, the phone line connected to my router ... and from there it goes to my pc ...
3) Is this a good recomended way ? if no, any other suggestion ? or any other advice to addon ?
4) Since the phone line split into 2 router, how is the bandwidth and speed ? Does it divide equally to 2 different router ?

Too Many DBKL, MBPJ, MBSJ Summon

Hi all,

From beginning i heard quite lot about these kinda summon. Some says just ignore and throw away ... but some ppl do really get lawyer letter or so ...

Up to now, i got total about 25+ summon ... it consist of DBKL, MBPJ and MBSJ ... not police related.

The summon is still increasin especially for DBKL, due to my parking at Bukit Damansara ... I also see a lots ppl doin illegal park to get summon and ignore it

So far i got few warning letters from them. Will it affect anythin now or future ? I really dont plan to pay them

Any advice or experience from these summon ?

Getting Default gateway Password

Hi all ...

Im sharing streamyx with 3 tenant in this house. Thing is, the main tenant had change his default gateway router password to something else. I tried username: admin , password: admin and it doesnt work...

At times i feel my line super slow, at times it's moderate speed. Sometimes, i also need to restart the router from web based.

Any alternate way how to get access to the default gateway ?

Hi all,

Last i applied and invited interview for this position was almost 1/2 year ago. It wss only 1st interview and fail to process to 2nd one....

Since then I keep apply whenever there is vacancy, and finally today i got call from them again

So i wonder what is the chances I'll get the job ... ? Higher than before ?

I also would like to know the working environment there, how is the turn over rate, culture, and salary ...

But thing is, I just join one of the MNC for few months only and now Atos call me. I really lookin forward for this company but scare will give bad impression also
