is ubuntu server reliable?

hey guys, anyone come across this distro used by commerical company before? any experienced user can share your opinions?

well.. i was wondering how reliable is ubuntu server... never heard of people using it... on rack server... i don't know about other distro but my client pc is based using feisty because 7.10 is unstable.. constantly hang..

how compatible if i use other server distro on different client distro... say fedora server and debian client...
i heard linux is free but not all of it.... can't remember which one.. red hat enterprise?

so any experienced linux user... please advise... thanks

hi guys..

well a friend need to setup a server that keeps data and asked my opinion about servers .. and i gave a rough spec of it..

33U rack
1U casing --- does they comes with power supply? reliable brand?
1 xeon processor
2gb ddr2 677mhz --- not sure what brand best for server
power supply... 600 watts?
intel server board --- not sure which model is the best for sas raid
hard drive using 2 sas 36gb seagate ---- but how to make sas , raid and hotswap works together perfectly?
1 ups 750 watts? no clue..
(note: must compatible / able to run under linux os)

hope some pros / sifu could give advise on whats better and most reliable... umm what else i missing on above.

good day, does anyone know how to skip or bypass the printer for using only black ink instead 4 of the cartridges...
for some reasons one specific cartridge always had this genuine ink problem... even after changed a new one..
only required black and white printing... but it seem that required the color's one as well in order to print... darn lol

anyone tweak it or got solution for it... thanks a lot
