PC to 1080p LCD TV

Hi folks,

I connected a HDMI cable from my Radeon 5770 to a full HD LCD TV. I was wondering if I play a 1080p video file on my PC, will the output on my TV be 1080p too?

On the other hand, is there a way where I can only play videos on the TV from my PC. I've tried 2 ways. One is setting dual displays which I didn't like it because my mouse goes to nowhere in the second screen even when my TV is switched off. Second was duplicate display, that was currently my preferred setting but I still wonder if my output on TV is still 1080p, because it was duplicated from my 22" LCD and I had to set to maximize display size on my Catalyst Control Centre on the duplicated(TV) screen.

Are there any alternatives? like softwares etc where I can directly display full screen video on my TV whenever I play a video.

On the other note, will this practice kill my graphics card? I don't have any sophisticated cooling unit installed on my PC.

Any experts please share your opinions

strange iPhone behaviour

Hi guys,

Recently I've just switched from Celcom(no 3G) to Maxis 3G including the iData plan 50. However, my 3G signal is very weak and fluctuates between 1-3 bars and I live in KL, very close to centre. Internet is slow. Even when I use Facebook, sometimes I need to restart the Facebook only the internet will start to work. Whenever I make a phone call, I noticed the signal will change to E (EDGE) which will have full bars. After a while then it will change back to 3G signal which then only 1-3 bars. Is that the way it works or it's just my iPhone malfunctioning? That was very disappointing because when I was in overseas I have no such issues with their telco. I've even tried restoring and reseting my network settings and still the signal is weak. I was wondering how could I even utilize the 500mb in the iData plan 50. Initially I just wanted the iData plan 30 but they told me it's finished, funny lol.

Hi people,

Recently I've been clouded with comments and suggestions about careers in the business field. I was told that this is good, that isn't good, this is boring and that is boring. Contradictions and disagreements were rose from the summary of suggestions from different parties. At the end of the day, it makes me think that nothing is good and everything is boring. As I'm an accounting graduate, I understand that there are variety of options for me in the business field. Finally, I've decided to stop being picky about what profession I should specialize in instead of bumming at home and using uncertain mind as a excuse for not working. I've decided to do what I'm used to do and what I'm comfortable doing, which is audit/accounting. As in the long term I would want to be exposed to accounting practices in various industries.

I've just graduated from a reputable university in Australia with a bachelor degree majoring in accounting. However, I'm concerned with the chance of being hired by corporate giants and big4s as my results were just marginal. At the same time, I do not wish to start off with small accounting firms because I'm not comfortable with the culture and work environment. Besides that, most of the people in small firms communicate in Chinese and being a banana makes me feel left out. I'm wondering if I really do have a choice or perhaps starting from small is the only option right now. I understand that possessing professional qualification significantly increase the chances of getting hired. Still, I'm certain that at this moment I will not be signing up or pursuing for any professional qualification. I've just completed a 3 year degree program and currently I do not have intentions or the motivation to continue studying. No doubt, the professional qualification will be considered sometime in the future. I'm looking for reputable accounting firms and other companies of specific industry which I'm interested in, companies which can add value to my profession. What companies would you recommend? What are my limited options? What range of salary I should be expecting? Please advise. Thank you.

Hello,

I'm a student who is going to study abroad soon. I'm looking for a laptop which costs more or less RM3k. Most of the time I will be using the laptop to do some uni work(Microsoft Office), movies, music, games(not the benchmark ones of course), internet. Preferably 15" and a dedicated graphic card and not Acer Dell Studio 15 looks quite decent but I would be better buying a free dos. Advise me please thank you

Hello people,
I'm using Streamyx, yes, Streamyx, bet it sounds annoying huh? streamyx streamyx streamyx.
I've been having problems with streamyx since the first day i suscribe it(3 years already). I suffer from frequent disconnections(dsl light blink), miscapped, slow, timeouts, packets loss and others, sounds like disease lol.
Over the 3 years of dissatisfaction, well maybe one day smooth connection, once in a blue moon only. Countless reports and phone calls been made, they can't seem to find the solution. What so hard? Imo the government needs to build more colleges that provide education on broadbands and networking. I wish I can fix it myself however I'm just an accounting student I classify RM88/month as an expense I know nothing about rocket copper wire telephone poles snr margin dslam science.

here's the story
I play World of Warcraft. I know many of us here play online games. We all know, online games we need smooth connection. So without a smooth connection, a game will turn u into flames.
Except those uncles auntie just magnum4d sportstoto.com.my every wednesday and weekends disconnection every minute also nvm.
After countless reports and phonecalls, finally the technicians came! I was so excited, they were like my saviors at first. I even prepared coffee for them. Unfortunately, what they did over here I could eventually do it myself. Any computer literate would know how to do it seriously. Like running tests with different modem, speed test on speedometer and other crap which totally a waste of my time and my coffee. I told them to screw speedometer use www.speedtest.net instead, they were like "wahh canggih ar ni hebat la u addtofavouriteslol" oh wtf..After all those tests, they said everything was ok speed to international links memang macam ni. I was like okok no problem my concern wasn't about the speed its about frequent disconnections. However, they were no disconnections at that moment coz it was noon! I told them it only strikes during the evening like 7 8. Then they said it was my telephone line, the copper wires were too old. So I asked them what can I do about it, they told me to rewire the whole house. So I thought so too and I wondered if they could find me a contractor and they said yes. Then ciao. No contractor and no smooth connection. So I found my own contractor, TM certified rewired the whole house for RM180 and I thought everything would be fine. Guess what? Its the same lol. Then I had to call them up again and complain about misguiding me to do rewiring and wasting my money. So one afternoon I received a phone call saying we fixed it already, go home and test. I was like OOO OK!THX! When I got home, I see my speed became 512, on a 1.0Mbps package. I asked them why, they said oh coz ur area cannot support 1.0Mbps so we had to downgrade u to 512, when it can't support, ur modem keep requesting for that speed thats why always dc. I've actually checked about that with a friend of mine and he said it was true. Ok lor so I've been paying rm88/month for a package that wasn't even supported in my area but nvm, as long as everything is alright now. So last few weeks was great, as I said its not about the speed its the smooth connection, no dcs. I swear that was the best time I had with streamyx ever! But today, here we go again! like Hello There Beautiful...
whats next? boiling point? I wish one day they would come to me and congratulations u are on streamyx boiling point and just passed our test u've won 1 million ringgit. lol.
how are the dcs like? its like the dsl light suddenly starts blinking, everything goes timed out, blinks for like 15 seconds, then stopped blinking already. I don't lose my connection, I'm still on the same IP. When it stop blinking, everything will resume, so in online games everything suddenly stops then fast forward or even lagged out.
Usually happens 7pm-12am, yes my online gaming hours.
Attached is my modem statistics, I think TM never made use of those statistics at all. Everytime they said fixed fixed fixed those numbers still the same. And I know that those numbers are bad, really bad.
So I'm just gonna wait till tomorrow morning to call them up and **** them up nicely.

Mount Hyjal and your latency

Anyone facing high latency while clearing the waves in Mount Hyjal?
My screen would freeze and everything just go fast forward
Buffing up was 200ms, when the waves and aoe start it would spike up to a few thousand, worst I'll just get disconnected. However, my vent wasn't lagging.
I'm using lowerping.
Without lowerping it's even worst, no need to play at all lol.
I tried turning off damage meter and threat meter, same outcome.
But then I won't get such problems in Black Temple.
Anyone faced the same problem and got the solution for this?
