Old FM Radio wire (internal) snapped

Greetings.

I have an old Pensonic CD/Cassette FM radio that I was cleaning the audio knob when I accidentally snapped the internal FM radio antenna.

I tried searching for the service manual for the particular radio but since the radio is old, it was not available.

And also I can't really seem to find any obvious place to solder back the antenna wire.

I know it is easier to send to someone to fix but I'm just wondering whether it is possible DIY this problem first.

Hope I would get some advice on how to find out the location of the FM Antenna site.

And if it doesn't work, will send to repair shop.

Hi all sifus,

I have an Asus X42JR laptop model 2010, having shutdown when go into Windows 10 OS after 10 minutes.

Have changed thermal paste and fans twice.

I noticed that the fans will spin like crazy even when idle.

I sent my laptop for a check and they said might be chipset problem, quoted RM350 (which should be the standard price)

But since the laptop is old, I thought either change the whole mobo or buy the new one.

The mobo cost less than RM300 from Ali express

Is it still worth it to change mobo or just change a new laptop entirely?

Hello, I'm new here and I want to ask which home entertainment system is better for beginners.

For me I prefer the PC but the reason I'm asking is that I'm buying for my dad who has not touched a computer for a while.

I see that AC Ryan and WD TV has gained quite a following here but I wonder which has an easier learning curve (easy to use) and better user experience.

And also, is it possible to surf the web and check emails on those?

Mostly, he wants to play downloadable content which is the main priority.

And also, are there any legal sites for download?

The choices now are
1)upgrade current pc
2)AC Ryan
3)WD TV

When is TM decreasing price for BBGP?

If you guys still remember, when Unifi was released, someone (the government) made a promise to reduce the prices for streamyx aka BBGP but so far prices for 2mbps and 4mbps is reduced and only by RM20.

Until now there was no news of any price decrease for speeds of 1mbps and below.

How the hell are they going to reach 50% BB penetration and somemore want to cut subsidy.

Somemore lower speed is expensive.

For example, a 384kbps Streamyx combo package still costs RM60.
When you count price per mbps, it is around RM180.

For a 2mbps package, the price per mbps is RM60.

The lower speeds packages are actually disadvantageous for the customer as you are paying 3 TIMES more than higher speed packages.

Makes you wonder if they can manage to get 50% broadband penetration when poor people are actually paying more in ratio

Guys I need help to reach Borneo Rainforest and I wanna ask whether which way is easier and less waiting time.

A) Take LRT to Kelana JAya station then take bus to Sunway
B) Take KTM to
1)Setia Jaya then Taxi
or
2)Subang Jaya then taxi

Anyone knows which one is faster or less hassle?

Hi guys, need some advice here.

I have a an old laptop bought in 2004 which has
screen problem (not sure because of LCD or inverter but sometimes scree becomes dark),
spoilt keyboard, battery which lasts only half an hour and a failling HDD.

My question is if I fix
the LCD and keyboard,
change the HDD(from 20GB to 160GB)
change the RAM from 256MBDDR266 to 2GB,

is it better that I do that or get a new netbook?

BTW, the screen on the laptop is 14 inch

Gated communities

HI all,

The reason I started this topic is because the number of gated communities are increasing exponentially.
(Which incidentally tells us how "useful" our police are)

My dad paid for security last year at my area for every month until this year when my house got broken in on April.

My laptop(less than a year old) and camcorder got stolen.

Not to mention the mess they made.

The worst thing still is that it was in the afternoon. On the day when it happened, the so called "security guards" were missing for the whole day.

When I made a police report, the officer in charge did not record the serial number for the laptop and just wrote "Acer Aspire laptop" which means I won't be able to see my laptop anymore.

Anyways, my dad met up with the RA secretary saying to cancel participation of the security program.

The secretary really did not ask properly as she said "Our guards informed you when your house was broken in".

At that point, my dad told her that it was our neighbors which informed us and told her to get her facts straight.

The security company was changed but my dad is skeptical and lost faith in them.

What would you do?

Credit Card Fraud

Hi there.

I wanted to know whether anyone who is credit card merchant here who experienced this.

I'm not one but my dad is.

A few months back my dad authorised a credit card transaction of RM2000 and it went through.

A few days after that, MB* contacted my dad saying that the credit card used is fake and they had to stop the transfer.

In the end my dad loss RM2000 and the con man got away.

So, I was wondering,

If the credit card used was overseas type using the magnetic strip which is fake but still went through,

who is really to blame?

I mean the credit card company authorised it.
