Hi guys, I have a Edifier R2700 (Studio 7) speaker which recently just died on the right side, but left side still working properly. Contacted Inter-Asia if they could repair for me but they no longer have parts for it. Was wondering if anyone here could recommend me a place to repair this speaker?

This speaker is really good for my living room without requiring a subwoofer and sound is amazing.
Really want to bring back this speaker to life.

Do I have to pay the company?

I gave my company resignation letter. My contract mention I have to served 4 months notice after I hand in my resignation letter. A few days later after I hand in my letter, I had mental breakdown. I have anxiety, depression and fear of going to work. Since then I never went to work for 1week. In the 1 week, I went to see a mental health doctor to seek for help of my condition as I could not sleep well because I keep thinking about work.

The doctor has helped me to wrote a letter stating that I am not fit to go back to work and to be requested to quit my job immediately. I can sleep better now and in recovering process while taking my medication. However the company requested me to pay a compensation of 2months of my salary in order to allowed me to leave the company immediately.

I would want to know, do I have to pay the company for the compensation? As the current state I am unable to serve the 4months notice period after my resignation due to my mental health condition.

I would like to know my rights and what I should do. I do not want to blindly being taken advantage by the company because of my mental health condition.

Update (6-March-2021):
* By right I have to serve 4months notice after my resignation
* I want to serve the 4months, however my mental health condition doesn’t allow me to do so
* I am unable to control my emotion
* If I suddenly scream, cry, hit someone, kill someone, commit suicide and etc, who is there to bear the responsibility?
* Since the beginning, already mention currently not fit for work. Would you still want someone who is not fit to work with mental health issue to continue to work for you for another 4months?

Update (8-March-2021):
* This incident is actually not me, is happening to one of my family member
* Victim actually worked for 2years and had stress on the work and disliking the working environment for sometime after changed of new management
* True that it can be suspicious breakdown after resignation, but this is the fact on what is really happening
* The victim is healthy before joining this company, but we just realize the person have this mental health issue just recently
* I personally witness the victim crying very randomly, body is trembling and body twitch at some random times
* I can't disclose the job, but the position of the victim is just a normal staff but then to get a replacement it might take some time because is not easy to hire a new staff as you can say in the term of lack of supply
* Is not a very high pay position as well, in between of RM2-3k/month

Is this legal for a company

My company came up with a notice of “freezing exercise”...
In the following 3months, 5 of the selected staff with go through “freezing exercise” whereby this 5 staff will not have to work for the company for 3months but still get paid of 20% of its salary...

In this 3months time, the staff is allowed to go work for other jobs and if the staff decided to go for the new job for long term, the staff can leave the old company at any time...

Is this even fair and legal for the company to do so? Isn't this is also retrenchment but compensate you lesser? Do feel free to comment...

[Update: 18 December 2020]
If the after 3months, there is no 100% if the company will want you back and everything back to normal and get 100% salary... They might extend it and continue pay 20% salary until further notice... But during this period, staff can option to resign at anytime... To put it short, you are on standby period with 20% salary... If the staff found a new job, the staff must inform the old company to terminate contract immediately. Working 2 jobs at the same time is not allowed.

To be honest, I feel is unfair whereby the company want to retrench staff by not wanting to go through compensation... Is indirectly making staff to suffer and pressure them to resign on their own instead.

Is it possible to proceed to labour office to complain and fight for the staff rights?
