The Xiaomi Redmi 2 has two SIM slots, each capable of 4G LTE connectivity (both Chinese and international, 150Mbps). The exception to this is the China Telecom version, which limits SIM2 to just 2G connectivity. This vesion also has 2G and 3G CDMA.

Additional connectivity features include Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS + GLONASS + Beidou positioning. There's a microUSB 2.0 port that supports QuickCharge 1.0 to quickly fill the 2,200mAh Li-Po battery.

The camera department didn't get much of an upgrade. The main camera of the Redmi 2 is an 8MP shooter from OmniVision. It has a 28mm wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and can shoot 1080p video. On the front is a 2MP/720p camera.

The Xiaomi Redmi 2/Hongmi 2 will launch in China on Friday (January 9) at CNY 700 - that's just $110. There is no official info on when availability will be expanded to other countries.

The sound it produce is more clarity than bass, but if you're not a bass head, you will be very happy with this speaker. There are still plenty of bass due to it having a sub, but it won't be as bass heavy as other bass driven speaker.

If you like to listen to songs with a singer vocal, like pop, or jazz or classic, this speaker will be excellent.

Motorola Google Shamu

The Motorola Shamu will not be opting for a Snapdragon 801 chip with Adreno 330 but rather the next big thing from Qualcomm - a Snapdragon 805 chipset with a quad-core Krait 450 processor working at 2,65GHz, 3GB of RAM and the Adreno 420 GPU.

AnTuTu's database has the device under the name Google shamu, which seems to solidify the rumor that this will indeed be the Nexus 6. The device carries a 5.2" QHD (1,440 x 2,560 pixles) display with around 564 ppi for unmatched sharpness.
The camera on the back will be a 13MP unit coupled with a 2.1MP one for the front. Finally the Shamu will be adorned with Android L for good measure - adding even more fuel to the Nexus fire.
Hopefully we're looking at an announcement soon at some fancy Google event where all geeky eyes will be on the search giant to refresh the very popular, but now aging Nexus 5.

"This is not a money-changing-hands kind of deal," John Lagerling, director of Android global partnerships, told the BBC.

Instead, he said, the idea was to do something "fun and unexpected".

"We realised that very few people actually know the taste of a key lime pie," he explained.
