KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Censorship Board should be reined in for playing moral guardian over what movies can be screened here, Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz said.

The Tourism and Culture Minister said he was informed that the board is considering banning the children's action movie Power Rangers just as the hue and cry ends over its attempt to make cuts in Disney's live-action film Beauty and the Beast.

"I am really depressed with what's happening with our censorship board.

"We never appointed the censorship board to be our moral guardian," he told reporters at a press conference held at the Parliament media room Tuesday.

He was asked to comment on the issue related to a minor scene in the movie, where Yellow Ranger Trini (Becky G) is coming to terms with her sexual orientation.

The scene shows one character assuming she's having "boyfriend problems," and soon realises that perhaps she's actually having "girlfriend problems".

Nazri said that rather than place a blanket ban on such movies, the censorship board could classify it as PG13, which would require parental guidance for those below 13.

"As parents, we are the ones in the best position to decide.

"Who is the censorship board to impose a blanket ban and to say it is not good for children," he added.

Nazri noted that the censorship board's action is more counter-productive as it would draw attention to the scenes in the movies.

He cited the controversy over the gay scene in Beauty and the Beast.

"I watched the scene and would not have known it.

"All I saw was a guy dancing in an effeminate way, lifting his shirt up to show a love bite, and I laughed it off," he said.

He added that the age of the Internet would also not stop Malaysians from viewing movies online.

"I appeal to the censorship board to reconsider its decision on the Power Rangers movie," he added.

He said the views expressed by the censorship board do not reflect those of Malaysia nor would it affect tourism, adding that tourists come to the country for its cultural diversity, food and sunshine.

ubisoft themepark in Malaysia?!

Today, Ubisoft announced that it will open a 10,000-square-meter indoor theme park in Kuala Lumpur.

“Ubisoft’s intention for this park is to immerse people in reactive worlds where they can interact with each other and become the heroes of their own life-sized game,” said Jean de Rivières, senior vice president of Ubisoft Motion Pictures, on UbiBlog. “Ubisoft will produce all digital media for the rides, and help design guests’ journey into the park to ensure the visitors’ experience is at its best,” Rivières added.

Ubisoft is teaming up with Malaysian theme park developer RSG, which run and own the park. According to the UbiBlog, the game maker will retain creative control.

The park is slated to open in 2020. The theme park’s name has not currently been announced.

If Bursa annouced some stock that is going to release dividend.

If i buy it before the ex-date and then sell the stock again after the dividend is release.

Is it a good idea? any pitfalls? is this practice common? instead of buy and hold.

After being married for a year, the frequency of being violent has gone to a stage that i have to worry about my safety.

Worst case is she is pregnant(4 months old) and bearing my child. She could not control her temper even her parent is around staying in our house...

Past case: breaking things, throwing things at me, using fingernail scratch my face, put blame and everything on me..., not allowed to even see my own parents and etc.

and then She keep saying she loves me?

I have given many chance and put it up with it and be patient with it, but it has reach to a dangerous stage.

I thought "yandere" girl only happen in anime/manga, in this case, it really happen in real life...

Hi All,

Looking for experts in land lease.
Cant find any good info online...

If you have a land and there is an interested party willing to lease it and operate on it.

How do you:

1) work out the rental amount or lease price? is it the same as land value spread over the years?
2) whos responsible for the cukai pintu and tanah? land owner or leaser?
3) Does it work the same as property? in terms of agreement, rental, legal and any other matters?
4) any more pitfalls to avoid?
5) Do the leaser return the building and land to you at the end of the lease?
