Dear friends. This is hard to ask.

My dearest friends (the least you can do is to share this)

There is this family that is very close to me and my family. And they are heavily tested. Heavily. Let me tell you a bit about them.

Few years ago, their strength and pillar dad and husband passed away. Leaving a very young family. Over the years they tried everything on their own to stay afloat and be a darling friend to us. By now, the mum tries everything and 2 of the eldest started working and 2 already finished high school.

As a single mother, trust me I believed she has tried everything. I thought they are ok, until my mom ask me to visit them few nights ago for a request.

They told me, without much details they have to leave the house. The bank might seal the house. Bottom line is, they have to leave.
Please do not focus on the bank shpuld and shouldn't. They have tried it all. Period.
Ok, I accept that.

Mi, auntie nak jual every single thing in this house. At least ada duit sikit. Can always start over.

When I heard that, you have no idea how I feel. If my mum was not there with me, I would have cried buckets. Seriously. No no no.

All must let go.

Garage sale. Ok. Will do, host and promote it. I know there are good people around that will try and help this charity sale. For a good cause.

I ask if the children knows about this? Yes. Oh dear. This must be hard. They have to let go. God help them.

I suggest to them to do a "Free-Bin" section. Free-Bin is like Freemarket. This part is for things that they don't feel like selling, it will be given free.

Since they owe us so much in terms of saman, why can't PDRM take the same measure as PTPTN? Kasi blacklist itu passport; you tara bayar, you tara keluar. Kasi lepak immigration sampai settle.

"The Cobbler"

I went to send my sandals to the cobbler (I call him abg kasut sogo) during lunch time. This is not the first time of me sending my shoes to be fixed by him. Kopak, send. Putus, send. Too big, send. Too small also send.

So anyway, when I arrived he was sleeping (yep, on the street). I woke him up, he smiled and said sorry, and took my sandals. He inspected it, and asked me to come back in 15 mins. "RM 12 ye dik, saya jahit tepi2 ni sekali bg lambat sikit rosaknya". I said Ok.

I went and grab my lunch. Ard 30 mins later I came back to the cobbler. There was a lady with her son. They gave him a horribly worn out pair of shoe. The abg took it, and said. "Ok saya baiki.. Tp dah teruk sgt ni. Dlm RM15 ni".

The lady had the cheek to bargain with him. She asked whether RM 10 is ok. RM 15 is too expensive. She was carrying an LV bag while wearing Jovian kurung (Oh yes, I know). The abg smiled and said.. "Ok, boleh lah.." The lady with her son left.

I wanted to say something but I don't want to embarrass her in front of her son.

I took my fixed sandals and gave abg kasut sogo RM 20 instead of just RM 12. I asked him to keep the change. He looked so happy and thanked me multiple times.

How sad is your life until you have to bargain with the poor? I wish I could have just say this to her.

Curfew in Sabah’s Esszone extended to January 12

The Phase 33 curfew in the waters of the Eastern Sabah Security Zone (Esszone), which ends tomorrow, has been extended to January 12 (7pm-5am).

Sabah police commissioner Datuk Jalaluddin Abdul Rahman said the decision to extend the curfew order was to ensure the safety and well-being of Sabahans in the Esszone.

The curfew covers the districts of Tawau, Semporna, Kunak, Lahad Datu, Kinabatangan, Sandakan and Beluran.

"The curfew is extended to control the movement of boats. The presence of security forces will provide confidence to the chalet operators and the fishermen," he said in a statement today.

Jalaluddin said the curfew extension was also to protect Sabah from intrusion by terrorists who posed a threat to the safety of researchers and tourists visiting the resort islands.

"Police have received information that southern Philippine terrorists and the Abu Sayyaf group are trying to sneak into Sabah to commit kidnapping for ransom and other transborder crime.
