downlights Q&A (bulb brand, PLC-E or PLC, glass?)
For all my downlights, I am still thinking using PLC-E (screw type bulb with build-in electronic ballast) or PLC (pin type with external ballast). How is the electric consumption, and reliability??

Some ppl said the PLC-E burn is mainly due to the 'head' of the bulb is too big and the downlight neck is too narrow so in long run the bulb heated up and damage. Some ppl saif PLC bulb is going to phase out and hard to buy the bulb, and it's slightly more power consume than PLC-E.

Besides the start up flickering (which might annoy some ppl), what are the downside of PLC bulb?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Btw, any sifus here using a China brand energy saving bulb named 亚明 (YaMing)?? They are the first company in China produce bulb in 1923.

The shop ppl keep on hard-sell this brand for the downlight. They did mention Osram recently have quality issue on the energy saving bulb.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you use downlight with glass, or w/o glass?

Some ppl said with glass the lighting is less bright, but looks more cosy. I am torn between single bulb (vertical insert, not the horizontal type as horizontal insert type the light is much much dimmer with 1 bulb) with or without glass for my living/dining.

Any sifu can give advice??
samsung fridge, good?

hi all,

is samsung fridge good? durable?

last month i book a toshiba GR-R35MD (gross 350liter, net capacity 275L), but just saw a samsung RT41RSTS (gross 410L, net 337L) with 5-star energy rating (which means i can claim rm200 for energy saving from government), after discount almost same price with the Toshiba i booked.

same amount of $$ (samsung higher rm100, but i can claim rm200 back), i get bigger storage compartment. is it worth? But samsung dont have so much fancy fancy feature as the Toshiba (plasma deodorizer lah, UV fresh guard lah, etc etc). But the Toshiba dont have the 5-star energy rating label (so i assume it is more power hungry than the samsung??).

any sifu use samsung fridge? or this model is actually going to phase out, they sell cheap cheap to clear stock?

[addedon]July 18, 2011, 3:21 pm[/addedon]no sifus using samsung fridge?? all is japanese brand supporter???

[addedon]July 18, 2011, 10:59 pm[/addedon]wah lau...really no samsung fridge users here ah???

another thing, when they put 5-star energy rating label on the fridge, does that means it is more energy save than those no label fridge (with the same amount of volume capacity)??
