KUALA LUMPUR: The United States is willing to help Malaysia should it decide to build a nuclear power plant, says American diplomat Laura E. Kennedy.

Kennedy, charge d’affaires at the Permanent Mission of the US to the International Organisations in Vienna, said her country had a long standing nuclear power industry with the right expertise.

“It’s completely up to the government of Malaysia. But we’ll be happy to negotiate a cooperation agreement like what we have with other countries that permits civilian trade in nuclear-related materials,” Kennedy, who is on a two-day working visit to Malaysia, told reporters here yesterday.

In July, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Mah Siew Keong said the Government would carry out a feasibility study to build a nuclear power plant in the country.

It was earlier reported that the Government planned to build two nuclear power plants to meet rising energy demand – one by 2021 and another, a year later.

Kennedy said that before any decision was to be made it was important for Malaysia to engage with nuclear regulatory bodies such as the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) over the need to conform to international safety standards.

The envoy, who is in the country to promote the peaceful use of nuclear energy, said Malaysians should be aware that nuclear technology could be beneficial in fields such as health and agriculture.

A cancer survivor, Kennedy highlighted the use of such technology in the treatment of the disease as well as its use in helping to fight the Ebola epidemic. — Bernama

ACL reconstruction

Hey there has anyone done double bundle acl reconstruction here?
Or anyone that heard about it. Where had u done it?
Is it good?

I had torned my Acl and meniscus.
I made a booking with HUSM for conventional acl reconstruction.
But now changing my mind to do double bundle acl reconstruction in Penang island hospital.
but It cost about 38k, much expensive...

As im KL ppl, im considering to do in KL.
Do u guys know if KL has the place offering this surgery?

Besides has anyone done this in KL sports medical centre? what kind of acl recon they are doing?
Mind share if u had done the acl recon in this hospital? The outcome.

Buying a house from cousin

My very close cousin is selling out her house for 300k because of moving to a bigger house. Her husband just bought the house for not more than 1 year.

She said now if if need to change the name and everything plus legal fee might cost around 100k. What she suggested is, we will pay them 50k first some sort like downpayment, then everymonth will need to pay around 1.4k. We will do the procedure of changing the name later. And apply for loan later. I'm just started working.

I heard that there is a new rule saying that if you sell ur house within 5 years, u will need to pay a huge amount of tax. Is that true? Please share me some of the procedure and things to do before/when buying a house.

I just got my result.. I'm not sure what i'm interested with it and i'm don't know which Us are good. So i need some suggestions.
My result is 3.25 (STPM)

I'm thinking about architecture,civil engineering and QS.
Anyone know what is QS in BM?

There is a lot of options which make me blur. I don't know which U & courses should i go for it. Hope someone can guide me. haha
