Problem with SLI 460 GTX

I left the day with my almost 2-month old brand new desktop performing perfectly then I came home to find that I can no longer run any games..
Problems: Display driver stopped functioning when the cards are used for 3D rendering (the driver even resets itself when in Nvidia Control Panel --> Manage 3D Settings)
Similarly, the driver would also failed when trying to render the notorious Starcraft 2 opening screen (it's been working perfectly fine for the past 2 months, without capping the frame-rates)
Started Civ5 to see what the real problem is, seems like it is some hardware problem that I'm facing as the graphics won't load well either.

Solutions tried: Updated driver to latest 260.89

My specs are listed in the signature. I'd really appreciate it if someone could point out or maybe give some ideas what are the real problems here.

Cheers!

X1900XTX Overheating Problem

My X1900XTX was about 2 years old. I was having a blast with it at first until things started to turn bad about 4 or 5 months ago.

First, CCC keeps popping up the VPU Recovery message saying my GPU is too hot and usually the card will make a warning beep (>100C). I checked the temperature and card's actually running at 70C idle, 90-100+C when loaded!!
So I removed the casing doors on both sides and dedicated a table fan blowing directly at the card 24/7. That solved the problem temporarily, bringing the card's temperature down to 60C at idle, 50C if I have my air-con switched on. (That IMO is still way too high). Some games are still playable but I noticed any slightest rendering of 3D stuff will drive the temperature up high in less than a minute.

SO I resort to changing the stock cooler fan to a CoolerMaster fan but that actually made matters worse. Now whenever I tried to run any games with any 3D elements, the GPU temp will go above 100C within seconds from 50-60C.

So my question is, is there anything else I could do to save this card? My drivers are all up-to-date. So I don't see any software problems. What's causing all the overheating? I have a 650W PSU btw.
