Can i enjoy with RM3500 salary ?

Hi

As the topic description suggested, is it possible to enjoy myself with RM3500 a month plus paying all the expenses ?
Since i will be living alone in Penang, so i need to pay for everything (rent + all the expenses you can think of).

Please help out. Provide your explanation.

Motorola Australia shut => Motorola Penang ?

Hi Motorolan, to those who work in Motorola, Malaysia or anyone with a good opinion.

As all of you know that Motorola is not doing well financially in 2008, following that they have taken cost cutting measures to lay off thousand of employees globally plus the shutting down of 'costly' sites in US, Australia and UK. I worked for Motorola in Australia and as part of cost-cutting, Motorola decided to shut down the R&D centers in Australia. Throughout my experience in Motorola, i just can't understand their business decisions. Decisions that are more political, focusing just on the profit rather than retaining the highly skilled engineers they have. I am not saying that engineers in Malaysia or China are less competitive but the fact is that i have witnessed the poorly designed software that managed to got onto the Motorola phones and yes that includes the latest Motorola Razr2 V8 that i am currently holding.

The purpose of this post is not to start a war fair on the cost-cutting strategy they have but hopefully to provide any insights into the work/lifestyle in Motorola, Penang. I am still eager to work with Motorola because of they once offered me a nice working environment/pay/benefits. But all these might changed if i got to Motorola in Penang. My current situation is that Motorola, Penang has accepted me as a permanent employee and will offer me a relocation package to come to work with them in Penang. So my question, am i doing the right thing, moving from Motorola in Australia to Motorola in Penang in term of pay/progression as in careers wise?

Please offer any advice. if the offer is right, i will be going there probably in May.
