Mafia III (PS4)

miyamoto_musashi — Wed, 21 Sep 2016 14:11:41 +0800

Sometimes, ESRB ratings provide the best or funniest idea of what the game would be like:

Rating Category: M
Content Descriptors: Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, Use of Drugs

Rating Summary: This is an open-world action game in which players assume the role of a Vietnam veteran (Lincoln Clay) seeking revenge against an organized crime syndicate. As players explore 1968-era New Orleans, they complete missions that often involve taking over criminal rackets and assassinating targets. From a third-person perspective, players use pistols, machine guns, shotguns, explosives, and knives to kill enemy rivals and thugs; players can directly kill civilians and police though this may negatively affect their progress. Combat is highlighted by realistic gunfire and large blood-splatter effects. Players can also use stealth attacks to strangle and/or stab enemies from behind. In some sequences, players engage in intense hand-to-hand combat, performing various takedowns and executions: stomping enemies' heads; snapping their necks; shooting enemies in the mouth or head at close range. One sequence depicts characters cutting the limbs off corpses inside a warehouse. The game contains depictions of nudity and sexual material: topless women dancing and caressing each other during a pornography shoot; a sex-party setting in which a woman performs oral sex on a man (no genitalia depicted); a male couple having sex in a bathhouse (no genitalia or penetration depicted); unlockable Playboy magazine centerfolds/covers depicting exposed buttocks and breasts. The game also includes references to drugs and drug use: a man snorting lines of drugs; missions that involve spiking liquids with LSD; depictions of a heroin-processing operation. The words “f**k,” "c*nt," “sh*t,” and “c*cksucker” are heard. Players will also frequently experience racial epithets (e.g., "n**ger," "g*ok") and dialogue.

PS2 titles now on PSN (US)

miyamoto_musashi — Tue, 18 Oct 2011 10:48:02 +0800

Anybody got this yet? They are $10 each.

Although not a HD remake, the vids of Odin Sphere on youtube shows that it still looks awesome.. and whatsmore, there are reports that the lags which existed in the previous game ARE ALL GONE! [UPDATE- I have bought both, but only tried Grim Grimoire, was pleasantly surprise that the image is still beautiful, despite being a normal ps2 port]

There are other games such as God Hand, Maximo etc... but the highlight for me is definitely the two titles from vanillaware (the question is when are they bringing over the HD remake of Muramasa!)

Starting in October, they will be releasing new PS2 titles every week, I wonder what else would they be releasing

Yotsuba&:YenPress Translation

miyamoto_musashi — Sat, 16 Jan 2010 02:11:58 +0800

So, I've been waiting for volume 6 of yotsuba for almost a year, and then I gave up on it until 10 minutes ago that I've stumbled upon the fact that volume 6 and 7 is already out! However I've been reading about people complaining about the new translation by Yen press for being too literal and too close to the source material. Normally this sounds like good news to me, but some of the arguments seem logical? But what do you guys think?
Anyone here yostuba fans?

Mad Catz Wireless N-adapter

miyamoto_musashi — Tue, 17 Nov 2009 15:09:03 +0800

As reported by Kotaku, Mad Catz have annouced the new Wireless N-adapter which can be used not only for the XB360, but also the ps3!!
Below is a paragraph from the article:

Earlier this month, Microsoft released a Wireless-N network adapter for the Xbox 360, bringing faster speeds to users who've up until now been stuck with 802.11g. Now Mad Catz is shipping its own adapter with a suggested retail price of $79.99 to Microsoft's $99.99. The Wireless-N Gaming Adapter connects directly to your console's ethernet port, allowing you to position it for the best possible. And since it uses an ethernet cable, it can be plugged into the PlayStation 3 as well, giving PS3-owners a bit of a speed boost as well.

Cheers.

PS3 region 3

miyamoto_musashi — Wed, 26 Mar 2008 12:53:43 +0800

Hey I'm curious about the PS3 that are being sold in Malaysia , what region are they in, are they region 3,
also, are the Singapore PS3s in the same region?

Then, my next question is whether region 3 PS3s play region A ( USA, Japan, and Southeast Asia ) Blu-ray movies.

Thanks a million.
