I&#39;ll be graduating this coming April. Haven&#39;t really got my first &#39;real&#39; job yet. <br /><br />But I just want to ask a few of you experienced people out there or people who&#39;ve heard about a career in advertising. <br /><br />1. I just want to know, in general do people in the advertising industry work normally very long hours? <br /><br />2. When people say &#39;long working hours&#39;, do they mean 8 am in the morning till 12 am? Or does it normally vary from company to company? <br /><br />3. In those long working hours, are we allowed to take home our work to complete it? Or does it vary from company to company? <br />I&#39;m the kind of person that does things quite efficiently (normally in college whenever I get assignments I manage to finish them almost one week ahead of the deadline). So, does this still mean I&#39;m one of those people who will be &#39;subjected to very long working hours&#39;? <br /><br />4. Do a lot of people in the ad industry smoke indoors? Or does it really depend on the company culture? <br /><br />5.
