MiboxS price increased by 30%, Other tv boxes too?

It is known the sudden increase of MiboxS is due to halt in production and majorly caused by MCO.

However, just a few days ago I read that there is a world wide chip shortage, so much so even some Japanese car makers have to halt production.

Is there microchips hoarding and if so will it also affect TV box prices. Never in my mind such tactics can take place, but who is to say it is not a good one since our lives are surrounded by these semiconductors.

Any local sellers can confirm if there is a price hike?

I probably learned more from this virologist who has fist hand accounts of Korean situation than all the other videos I have watched thus far.
Not like other virologist that basically spurts out information from medical books.
He even explains the economical aspects, governement agencies, and vaccines companies in Korea.

https://youtu.be/LVBc7-Te_yA

@3:10 - Patient Zero, and Vaccines
@7:22 - Explains why the virus spread so quickly
@9:26 - Masks Explained

Guide 4 first time buyers of Android Boxes & IPTV

Newbies buying android boxes, will surely ask about IPTV. I cannot fault you guys for asking, and I don't deny everyone new to android boxes will ask for it. After all android boxes are meant for Home entertainment.

In this forum, we try not to discuss about the pirated IPTV - as it is forbidden by Forum rules, and the thread will be deleted by moderators. There are other platform where they are openly discussed and apps share without limitations.

Only official legitimate IPTV services i.e. AstroGO, UnifiPlay TV, Netflix, Prime, Viu, dimsum, iflix, Disney+... can be openly discussed here. But by no means to say, the contributors do not know about the pirated IPTV. I can assure you, a lot of them in here are upto date with latest free pirated IPTV in the market.

Let it be known, that if casual people like us who knows where to get them - I can guarantee any Android box sellers worth their salt will also know of the latest free IPTV. The problem with these free IPTV is that, they come and go. Users have to be diligent and hardworking enough to keep up to date with latest apps.

It is for this reason, if newbies are buying Android Boxes for older parents that are not technically inclined - please consider subscribing to a 'legitimate' IPTV that can offer guaranteed streaming.

If newbies are still incline on getting affordable solution of android boxes + IPTV apps - DO REMEMBER THIS, the free apps won't work perfectly all the time, and will stop working at some time. Buy your android boxes from Specialist Sellers who can provide good after sales service, and not be fooled by sellers promoting 10,000 movies and 10,000 IPTV channels in their android boxes.

Normally these sellers, sell and then forget about you. Avoid sellers who can't even offer any extra services, as they are merely traders - they obtained the consignment stocks to shore up their store shelf only. Whether they sell or don't, they don't lose money. Also try avoid items where it states "Pre-Order" if you are not certain of the sellers reputation.

If still dunno what to get and feel insecure about unbranded OEM OTT boxes - then get Mibox S. Buy it for the EXPERIENCE of using android boxes for the first time, and when you are more confident - you can sell off the mibox S and get a box that suits your needs.

WORK IN PROGRESS :-
-links will appear here linking directly to the posts of interest.

Recommend good VPS (Virtual Private Server)

A friend from China, Shenzen looking to invest in Malaysia.
Instead of going cloud, he prefers to get VPS here in Malaysia locally with Malaysian IP address.
Reason is, he wants to build a VPN and also run tests on apps locally.

He is not interested in subscribing from Singapore.

I, myself knows nothing about this industry, and hope sifu-sifu here can provide some comments or reviews of good, reliable and affordable VPS operating in Malaysia. He asks if any of the major Internet service providers (ISP) sells VPS. Reliability seems to be utmost importance to him.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Why USSD internet subscription MENU keep changing

just found out a MVNO telco has a USSD internet subscription menu that keeps changing position on the menu.

Are they trying to be funny?

The daily, weekly and monthly option for internet subscription changes position on the USSD menu after every 3-4 times.

Since the subscription is auto-renew, users have to unsubscribe it to stop the auto-renew.

So much hassle trying to make customers go through every single menu instead of a straight forward continuous USSD code to get to the final confirmation page.

why do you think they are doing this? Are other telcos doing this as well?

Notebook Mobo repair

Have a Dell Inspiron Notebook (Item age 6 years) , suspect motherboard failure at the DC jack or its power distribution board.

AC Adapter working okay, with LED light up and Tested OKAY on other dell inspiron notebook. The LED will turn off the moment connect to the faulty unit above. Suspect a burnt mosfet, transistor or a jack problem.

Dismantled the notebook (with help from Youtube..lol). Didn't see any burnt marks or any loose DC jack. The symptom still the same whenever AC adapter is plug in on to the motherboard even without any peripherals or processor. Thus very conclusive is mobo failure and also suggested likewise from googling around.

Need recommendations what I should do.
- Bring to Lowyat to repair (any recommended outlet), and estimate costs
- Bring to Digital Mall,PJ (any recommended outlet), and estimate costs
- Change the whole motherboard, ebay.. lowyat, digital mall.. costs
- Put it aside for another few years, and hope for cheap spare parts later...lol

Thank you for any help and recommendations. Much appreciated.
