The biggest WASTE of RAM - DWM.EXE

I have recently found out on the net and would like to share this information. I think this only happens for Vista Aero Theme Users.

When you mouseover something in your taskbar, you find a sort of mini thumbnail. For Notepad, this "feature" occupies 4MB of RAM (per 1 Notepad window open). After a routine boot on the system and after it has been running for say 1-2 hours with use (not idle), the process DWM.EXE can go up to 80+MB. I found a quickfix for this, the side effect is the transparency goes for your windows, no thumbnails (which u cant really see anything also) and no flashy Document Flip.

DWM - Desktop Windows Manger by the way.

1- press start
2- type services.msc in the search bar
3- if UAC prompts, press ok
4- scroll down to letter "D" so that you can find "Desktop Window Manager Session Manager"
5- right click on the service and click on "stop"
6- then right click again on the service and choose "properties"
7- on the "general" tab, select startup type as "Disabled"
8- press OK and exit...
9- you will realize the changes just after you do this process

If you need the RAM and want to use the Aero theme this would be a good option. Just some information I would like to share with everybody.
