Is my CPU dead?

Hi folks,

So here is the problem I'm facing. My previous mobo GA-Z77-D3H was burnt near the USB ports section. Not sure why, but I suspect short circuit/wire bend in the processor seat.

So I got another mobo GA-Z77P-D3 as a replacement, but I have been trying to boot it up. It has power, all fan is turning (Processor fan, GPU fan and system fans all ok) but it keeps having continuous short beeping (up to 20 times beeping) and it just shuts off.

What I have done so far.
1) Removed all my rams and tested each ram 1 by 1 in each slot - Still same continuous beeping
2) Tried Step1 with GPU removed as well - Still same problem
3) Use another PSU to plug to mobo - Still same beeping issue
4) Only plug PSU to mobo, with 1 ram (no GPU, no Hard disk) - still the same issue.
5) I tried removing the CMOS battery wait for 15 mins then put it back - same beeping issue
6) Tried to clear CMOS by putting a metal pin on both pins - same beeping issue
7) I even tried reseating my processor a couple of times, reapplying thermal paste, and install the fan back - no luck

My Rig:
CPU: i5-3470
GPU: R7 260X Sapphire 2GB GDDR5
RAM: Corsair Vengence DDR3 2x4GB (I have 2 sets of these meaning up to 16GB RAM total)
HDD: WD 500GB
PSU: Corsair CX650M

So, the only thing I can suspect now is 1) either my mobo has defect or 2) my processor is dead (I dont have a spare mobo to confirm this).

Hi folks,

I was trying to fix my old comp (its about 10 years old).

Hey All,

I have a Samsung Note 3 and S7edge. I want to connect to my TV, but my TV does not have the Screenshare option and the TV could not connect to Wifi. (Its a pretty old TV but it has USB & HDMI ports)

What is the best way to do this for both phones? I saw on youtube they suggest getting ScreenBeam Mini 2 which allows to connect wirelessly. But the price is a bit expensive... and some ask to get MHL cable, but some users say it does not support on certain phone models (not sure if this is true).

So I need some advise on this or looking for other alternative ideas

PS: Not sure which thread this question falls, mobile r hardware...so apologies in advance.

Recommend microphone

Hi guys,

Apologies in advance if I created this thread in the wrong section as I could not locate any microphone thread in lyn.

I'm looking for a mic for gaming usage those clip-on type. Currently I'm using HD555 as headphone so, I need a separate mic for this (not getting a new headphone with mic).

Been looking around online and found some recommendation such as Zalman or Sony ECM-CS10. Wondering if anyone could suggest if they are any good brands that I can look into?

Budget: below rm150

Thanks!

Hi All,

Would like to ask how do you all mount your modems on a wall without using drill/nails.

I tried using acrylic tape, which works for a while but it started to lose it's grip after 2-3 days.

Any other suggestions?
