Monks are sacred warriors who channel divine power through sheer force of will. Healing waves, mantras of protection and attacks empowered with holy might are all within their purview.

Skilled monks deliver rapid-fire attacks unarmed or with a variety of well-balanced weapons. In combat, they emphasize high maneuverability over staying power, darting in and out of melees and avoiding protracted slugfests.

Monks’ attacks are primarily melee-focused. They can eliminate single foes with extreme damage, or deliver short-range area-of-effect assaults with waves of elemental power that emanate from palm strikes or crescent kicks.

BACKGROUND

Monks of the Sahptev faith train their bodies and minds so that they may become the foremost holy warriors of the land of Ivgorod. Within the cloisters of the Patriarchs, the monks endure harsh trials both physical and spiritual, proving their devotion and attaining unmatched focus.

Daily ritualistic cleansings help monks purify their spirits and overcome the corruption that gnaws at the hearts of all men. In the pursuit of martial perfection, they also hone their legendary balance and clarity, skills that allow them to master both unarmed combat and a diverse array of weapons.

After a lifetime of preparation, anointed monks are permitted to leave their monasteries' halls to serve the decrees of the Patriarchs. The emblem on their foreheads marks them as survivors, achievers, and pillars of their society.

Monks embody the will of Ivgorod’s one thousand and one gods in every step and every strike.

Crusaders are unbending champions of faith and law. These living fortresses use impenetrable plate and towering shields to wade through scores of foes, leaving demonic bodies smoldering in their wake.

The thick of battle is unforgiving, but crusaders rush in without hesitation, relying on holy magic and heavy armor to guarantee victory. Well-trained crusaders are adept at deflecting attacks entirely, often shrugging off massive blows that would fell lesser combatants. If pressed, they can sacrifice speed and mobility for pure staying power.

Bone-crunching flails and wicked shields are perfect for melee, but crusaders are hardly limited to extinguishing evil at close range. When one of these divinely empowered warriors joins battle, blazing fire and blinding light follow, smiting entire packs of enemies who dare to resist judgment.

BACKGROUND

The leaders of the harmonious Zakarum religion once strove to imprison Mephisto, Lord of Hatred, beneath Travincal temple, preventing him from ever twisting the hearts of humanity again.

They failed.

It was not the first time Zakarum had lapsed; 200 years prior, the cleric Akkhan noticed corruption at the heart of his faith, and sent his acolytes on a far-ranging quest to cleanse it. Akkhan’s “crusaders” were young recruits, chosen for honor and goodness, trained in weaponry and flesh-scouring magics, though their most important quality was unwavering devotion to duty.

Today, the crusaders’ focused quest for purity has broadened. Flimsy “containment” gives evil many opportunities to thrive, and wandering crusaders – often master and apprentice pairs – regularly strike down Sanctuary’s demons. Some fight out of righteousness; others in the hopes that their victories may make corrupt Zakarum whole again. When a crusader's master dies, their student takes up their weapons and their identity…and the crusade continues, even beyond death.

CHALLENGE: Mighty Blow

Inspired by [@2890]'s post, I have come out with another challenge: Mighty Blow

Despite on how OP a barb, how deep freeze a CM, how awesome firebat can deal damages, I believe this challenge needs a more precise practice & certain skill will excel than the rest. What you need is not only skills & items, but also timing and luck to get the numbers.

The rules are similar to the other challenge:

2. You must not sell the gears within the 1st week unless you got yourself upgrades. Even you gets upgrades, I am still happy to have the piece back so that I can put up another set for other people.

Let me start:

1. accidentally swapped out MH with a 210dps dagger and I was like "how come today the elites so strong one, took so long to kill"
2. teleport to mate standing in 3x firepool, GG in 1.5 secs
3. sold my MH 9xx weapon with emerald sockected/700LoH/2.9%LS/dex/vit (worth 26.5+16.5=43mil). when discover and go back, it was the 1st in the buyback list. means if I ever sell another gear I would forever say bye bye to it.

Let me start first.

Me = Monk, Act 4 is the hardest. Reason is because of his -75% healing effect and monk had to facetank him. Might be easier for Throwing barbarian and range characters.
Sokahr might give quite a problem to range, and of course the solution is to shoot him real far.
Odeg's jailer+molton will give problem to those without the ohshit button.
Xah'Rith is no longer a great threat after the illusionist remove from the latest patch.

I have a old-skool C2DE6550 (1333fsb) and my cousin had a legendary DCe5200. While checking with him about the model of the mobo, may I know which of the processor provides a better headroom for this aging platform?

After some year with my A64 3000+, finally my sisters and I come to an agreement for an upgrade.
First the budget would be RM 2k, might be able to jack up to 2.5k
Secondly I am looking for an AMD build. NO INTEL i5 please as I wish to use PCs from both camp (refer my siggy)

These are what I need:
1. An AM3 processor. I am still in dilemma on whether to get a X3 720 or push it up to X4 955BE...
2. AM3 motherboard with SOLELY DDR3 ram slots. 4 slots is preferable.
3. DDR3 4gb (2x2gb)
4. ATI GC capable to run decent settings with 1920x1080, 5770 or 5850??
5. A 1920x1080 LCD
6. (OPTIONAL) aftermarket CPU cooler if the stock cooler is noisy

Things not needed (reuse the old one): casing, harddisk, dvd-rom, PSU, kb+mouse

Is my CM IGreen 500W @ 82% rated efficiency enough for the build after 5 years in service?

Upgrade from E6550 to Q9550

Hi,

Refer to my siggy you can see that I am currently using E6550 to coupled with my DFI-P35. After some research I discover that the maximum I can go with this board is the Q9550. Otherwise I would have to move on to the i5/i7 platform which require an architecture change.
Checking with tomshardware I did not find a favourable answer on the performance difference between these two proc.

I did not tried the current rig with GTA-IV (core-hungry) yet because I have a small LCD. Now I was thinking of getting a 24" Full-HD + ATi 58XX card by the end of the year so I think the current E6550 is not good enough. I might let go of the E6550 at the garage sales. I know there will not be any significant difference when surfing etc...

I do not wish to trade-in the 9600GT as I would be plugged it to my second rig (refer my siggy also) to replace the aging 6600GT for my younger sister for her Serious Sam 2 activities.

Now can anyone enlighten me whether the CPU upgrade is worth or not? ASSUME BUDGET IS NOT A CONCERN AND NO CHANGING PLATFORM so don't suggest me to go for i5/i7/i9/amd...

Windows Driver Folder

I have a 4 years old windows xp laptop that went kaput recently with power supply issue. The 2.5" hard disk are still accessible via external enclosure.

I bought a new vista laptop.

Now I have a usb-serial adapter used along with the old laptop that I want to port it to the new machine, but unfortunately I lost the old driver cd.
My very last move is to purchase a new usb-serial converter.

QUESTION: Is there a way to obtain from the old hdd the driver used (the path where the drivers will be installed) or is it feasible enough to do so? I am concern that the old driver would not be compatible with the vista machine but I am going to give it a try.
