4Mbps Slow Connection Club

I was reading the unofficial Streamyx 4Mbps thread and so many of us are having problems with it, especially slow connection. I am on 4Mbps myself pegged to 218.111.x.x IP Address and capped at 5mbps.

Here's my take:

After upgrade to 4Mbps, the first month I get the normal 115,110,64,etc IP address. I can download from Hotfile at 250KB/sec. Other highend websites like Gmail and Adobe can get maximum 500kB/sec.

After 1st month, I realise my hotfile speed drop to ~10KB/sec only. Rapidshare to 100KB/sec only. That was the time i realised my connected pegged to 218 IP.

Even Youtube is damn slow. Need to buffer all the time. Last time buffering is faster than playback.

So, TM told me 218 is premium IP to make sure I get full speed. And TM also said that I'm not the only 4Mbps user complaining Youtube load slowly. There are others out there.

HAIHHH... i'm currently pushing TM to change my IP back to normal IP to see if can get better speeds.

Cannot detect DVI dispaly after install driver

I just bought a new system using Gigabyte's GA-H55M USB3 motherboard that comes with onboard intel graphics. It has a DVI, VGA, DisplayPort and HDMI port at the backpanel.

Here's what happened. After installing Windows 7 x64, I installed the intel graphics drivers supplied from the CD. After rebooting, my computer no longer detects my LCD monitor (which was connected to my DVI port). Hence, I will see the Bios POST screen and windows startup screen. But after that, the screen goes blank and enters standby mode. The only way for me to view what is on my desktop is to connect to my LCD TV through the HDMI connector.

Once connected to LCD TV, i checked under the Intel Graphics Properties dialog box. I can only see one display which is "Digital Television" and cannot see my LCD monitor even in Device Manager.

It seems to me that the installed driver cannot detect my LCD monitor on the DVI port.

So what seems to be the problem? Any idea how to solve??? I'm desperate! My last resort would be to get an external graphics card but that would defeat the whole purpose of getting this motherboard with onboard HDMI and DVI.

Sigh!!

D gear takes a long time to engage

Hi, I have a problem. My Nissan Serena (year 2000) 2.0L (automatic transmission) takes a long time to engage the D gear.
To get the car moving quickly, I have to engage 2nd gear first and drive it for quite some time and distance. Usually it is around 4+ mins or about 2KM before the D works. Otherwise, if I put it to D earlier than that, the car will remain as if in N gear.

Last time, it only happens when I start the car in the morning. Nowadays, it happens almost everytime I start the car. The colder then engine is, the longer it takes to get D working.

My mechanic couldnt' figure out what was wrong. I think he flushed the transmission oil or something like that. After that, the condition improved abit but only for a while. Sometimes, if I disable Over Drive and swtich from 2nd to D while the car is moving, I can make it work but as soon as i enable OD again, it falls back to neutral.

Anyone got any idea what is wrong?

How to check dead pixel on new freedos notebook?

Hello

Yes I admit I'm doing last minute homework for my purchase tmrw at PC Fair.
Planning to get a CQ45 notebook with Freedos tomorrow.

But i got one question unanswered still and time is running out. How do I check for dead pixels tmrw before i accept the unit? It will be freedos.
I saw another thread that says use BartPE. But that's for WinXP right? Will it work sitll since the CQ45 was designed for Vista?

Please someone advise me! :-D hehe.. dun wanna bring back a laptop with dead pixel tmrw.
