What causes Disconnections?

Location: KL
Have you called your ISP's helpline?: Nope

Personal equipment
Modem: Streamyx default modem
Router: Belkin
Firewall used: -

Problem details
First occurence of problem: About 3 weeks ago
Problem frequency: Very frequent.. DC every 2-3mins
Problem description: Frequent disconnections

i would like to know the causes for frequent disconnections.. as my dsl light blinks everytime i get DC-ed..and after awhile it will reconnect and DSL
light will stable for 2-3mins.. then it will Blink again and DC... this cycle happen over and over again and its really very frustrating as i couldnt stream or play games.. so i would like to know what causes these frequent DC's.. is it because of bad line? as i had my streamyx for quite some time already.. and previously i dint have this kinda problem.. or could it be caused by my modem or router for being faulty?(not sure if its faulty)

guys.. if i get DC frequently and i noticed my modem's DSl light blink everytime i DC.. does it have anything to do with the current TM cable problem?
