Alternate Modem/Router for Unifi

Hello guys!

I've been having issues with my standard UniFi modem & router combo. Often times I got notifications on my devices saying that my wifi is unstable. I have been using Belkin N300 for my Streamyx prior to upgrading to UniFi but I have no clue on whether it's possible to do so with UniFi and how to. Searched around and I'm still trying to look for guides or anything of sort to help me out.

If anyone knows a way, do share. Sorry if this had been posted before but I've tried searching and can't find one for Belkin N300 apart from Huawei's.

Thanks!

LF PC Modding Service @ KL

Im a bloody lazy dude and I hv little idea about playin w wires. And stuff.

Casing: Cooler Master HAF 922
Proc: i7 920
Graphics: Palit GTX295 (might change to GTX580)
Mobo: ASUS ROG Rampage II Extreme
RAM: Corsair Dominator GT DDR3 3x 2GB
CPU Cooler: CM V8
PSU: Corsair HX1000w

What I'm looking for is a personnel in a proper shop @ Lowyat (or smthng) to help me to handle my cable management as well as determining a proper cooling system for my rig, as I am still only using the stock fans of the HAF922. I am not looking to change to another casing. Probably going to want to add another 3 fans, and replacing the current 3 stock fans; and also installing few fancy LEDs. As I said, I dont really know hardware stuff so it's safe to call me a noob. Oh, I fancy changing my default red LEDs of the case to blue LEDs.

Do pm me here regarding any details that you can provide (or anyone that you know who would be able to help me manage my rig).

Cheers.

Btw, one of my main purpose to seek for 'pros' to do this is that one of my biggest concern w my rig is the temp. I wouldve wished that I could fork out for a WC for this small beast of mine, but for the meantime, best I can do is for a better than average non wc setup. Help?

G'day citizens.

I just shifted to PV12 last week and having visited TM Point Setapak and double checking with the admin @ PV12's management office, Im sure to be without Streamyx for the next few months at least. Not sure for how long but Im sure I cant live without having no connection at all.

Ive thought of tryin for either P1 or UMobile or any oth providers, as long as I could get a proper connection with no contracts However, I cant filter too much info at one time Hence, I really hope if thr are kind soul that would be kind enough to enlighten me on the availability of services @ PV12 and so on.

Imaginary cookies to y'all.

I'm out trying to buy myself a new LCD but till now still couldnt decide

http://www.testfreaks.com/monitors/samsung...cmaster-2333sw/

http://www.testfreaks.com/monitors/samsung-t240/

http://www.testfreaks.com/monitors/samsung-2233rz/

http://www.testfreaks.com/televisions/dell-s2409w/

I'm considering either one of these. Price may vary a lot in between and also the sizes for each monitors. I am not very sure whether 2233RZ is out in KL already or not but if I had to (and if it's proven that it's the best to get among these or in any case, any other monitors that you guys could recommend), I would try to get it from SG.

I have never used either Samsung or Dell LCDs before so I am really into a new kind of experience with 2 brands that I have never had my hands on before

New Rig

I'm planning on getting a new rig and I hv a decent budget of RM4k. RM5k top.

Purpose: Hardcore gaming - heavy MAYA usage - multimedia prog.
Budget: RM4k - 5k

Things that I don't need: HDD, DvD Drive

With the budget set around that, I'm looking for a pretty decent rig that could get me flying.. well, or not so
Bear in mind that I am siding for Phenom II and 4890 GC but as the thread is, please, opinions etc are most welcomed.
Oh and it would be awesome if I could just sorta fit in all the LCD, speakers and probly G1 in to make up the price as well. I'm planning to get rid of my current desktop so everything must go (since I'm selling it off ).
Also, I am not familiar w OC at all. But if I am going for AMD and HIS, I might consider this, too. Probly, any suggestions?

Oh and I hope no one would put the hardcore gaming in bold when considering this. What I mean by that is I do long hours gaming in an environment which pretty much eats shitloads of memories. My course require MAYA usage and other multimedia apps so this must be taken into consideration for which RAM would be more suitable and so on. So, that might be considered in the setup

As I said, I'm more than willing to listen to any opinions, at all.

Thanks.

Graphical freezes during raids/heroics.

As topic stated. Anyone else facing this similar issue? Im running w 8600GT w 2GB ram and my processor is AMD DuoCore 4400. Problem sorta started in WoTLK. Dont hv any much issues in any other places, unless it was after the raid/instances runs. Graphic seems fine when I'm not doing anything even when everyone else if spamming AoE but starts fckin up once I started to move/attack/doing anything. I would like some advices before making my way down to lowyat to do some changes to my rig or something. Thx a bunch.

Btw, my graphical settings in game would be low except for spell (med) and view distances (near medium).

Ok. So I got my new connection last week (Friday) and tbh I was so freakin excited to get a new 4mb connection in to replace the temporary izzi connection which I've been using for about 2mths. But little that I expected that another nightmare was about to start.

The new 4mb connection serves me quite well really, tbh, in general, yes. Browsing, good. Gaming, apart of WoW, decent. So the real problem Im having now is w WoW <=> Streamyx. Ive tried connecting to WoW via izzi and streamyx since I got my connection, and like seriously, my izzi could get better ping as compared to streamyx. And Ive ran tracert and ping to 12.129.225.103 (Jube'thos) on both izzi and streamyx. Most of the time, izzi won. Funny, I guess. I cant seem to figure out what the problem is. Im getting horrible ping for WoW now (on my streamyx) and was totally unplayable.

Ive tried to sketch down a lot of probable cause and yet to actually determine any. If WoW's laggy atm, why isnt anyone else (or so I thought) and why could my izzi get better ping and playable ping for WoW? But if it lies within my new streamyx connection, why is it only for WoW and not for anything else?

Ive been trying to crack my head open hoping that I'll be manage to solve my problem, be it by fluke or talent but yeah.. nothing seems to work as of now. So, anyone actually have any similar problem as mine or smthng?

No Streamyx for PV10 QQ

As mentioned above. Me and my mates happily signed contract w the landlord for a year. And then when I went to TMNut today to relocate my Streamyx, I was informed that the new condo doesn't have any phone line atm. Meaning that I have to wait until certain time to be able to get my streamyx back. That was a shock for me since my life depends on internet a lot

So, I've seen a lot of threads, heard a lot of rumours and seen a lot of my friends perished while being under contract w Maxis broadband. And I believe that I wont wanna be in that position too. And then came along the thought of Celcom broadband and tbh, by the looks of it, Celcom broadband does look decent enough.

Thing is now that.. I wont wanna call up to Celcom customer service and not knowing where should I start shooting my questions at. So, it'll be wiser to ask fellow LYNs opinion 1st.. I guess

Ok. Things worth to be mentioned here is:
1. PV10 is located in Genting Klang. So I assume no problem for Celcom broadband 'no connectivity' issue here?
2. Packages worth mentioned. Streamyx is being a total pain in my arse for now, so my access to websites are limited. Even having constant time out while tryin to open LYN (I'm still having my streamyx connection until tomorrow, when I would officially be internet-less).
3. I don't hv a celcom line. Does that mean that I need to reg a Celcom line in order to use Celcom broadband?
4. I've never subscribed to any wireless broadband before so be kind to me
5. I don't know what else I should ask..

Thanks.

No Streamyx

Aye fellow LYNs.

Purpose of this thread would be mainly on choosing an option on ISP other than Streamyx.

Reason is not because of the typically hatred feelings towards Streamyx but annoyingly, it's because the new unit I'm moving to (tomorrow) not having any phone line atm. And word is that it might take them till somewhere around Sept - Q4 of 2008 for full installation of phone line for the whole condo. So, here I am tryin to find some solutions for other temporary connection that I could opt for.

I've heard words about Hotlink being a total pain in the arse and what not. But what I don't know is about other available options such as Celcom Broadband and stuff like that.

So, any kind soul care to drop me a point or 2?

I'm in dire need of connectivity once I officially move into my new hse which is by Wednesday, for my daily purpose which includes life and death =x

Edit: Oshyt.. I forgot this is WoW section >< But well, I guess it does matter since I play WoW.. so meaning.. I'm searchin for other option of broadband that could at least handle WoW for the time being..

Connection Issue

Hi guys!

Well there is this issue. I have been facing high latency for the past couple of weeks. Well it only worsen starting from last week.

Thing starts back around end of March. I got pretty high latency.. as in.. really high

So around 20+ of March I made a call to Streamyx at about 11pm-12am. At that time my connection was pretty fcked up.. but I could still play WoW and stuff.. so this CSS officer suggested me to file a report to help@tm.net.my. Which I did.. and I attached together results after I ping-ed several international links and couple of local links. Couple of days later I received an email saying that they hv filed an official report based on my email and my conversation w the previous CSS officer. But my connection wasn't bad after that.. so I presume they dropped the case. I was pretty much glad...

... until last week. I tried to ping those websites after I got 1-2k ms constantly while playin WoW (while on Gamepath). So I did all those stuff necessary.. but things didn't change at all. Last night I called them up again. Filed another report and stuff. They informed me that there wasn't any official issue regarding high latency around Wangsa Maju Area. And that they filed my report and blablabla.. the typical way they handle most I guess.

So, this is kinda frustrating. I can't log in WoW, I cant do pretty much everything. Browsers loads every 5mins (think so) for me. And waiting for them to give me a call back regarding this issue is tiring.

Just a simple question after those long useless story: Anyone else around my area face similar issue?

Thanks.
