Laptop Sound Card and Speaker upgrade/replacement

Hi guys,

Laptop Model: NEC Versa S3200 (bought 2007)

The problem with this laptop:
1. the audio socket is faulty. When a earphone or speaker is plugged into it, the sound coming out will be horrible, like alien doing beatbox.
2. The built-in speaker is too soft. Is it replaceable with something more powerful? Is there even such thing as internal speaker for laptops in the market? Or is there any sound amplification software that can increase the master volume to like 200%,300%?

I'm aware that there are USB sound card and speakers, but I hope to fix the problems stated if possible.

I love my laptop, 4 years still going strong after some RAM and battery upgrades.

Thanks!

Looking for a pictorial guide of photo taking tips

Some months ago I came across a website or blog post about a humorous pictorial guide of photo taking tips. It shows picture example for every tips.

For example:
"Do not forget to remove the lens cap" will show a black picture;
"Do not block the flash with your fingers" will show a partially darken photo;
"Look into the view finder when taking a photo" will show a picture with the subject largely out of the frame; etc..

I forgot to bookmark it that time. Anyone came across that site please post the link here. Greatly appreciated!

DSL600E disconnect when not in use

Hi ppl,

I'm using Aztech's DSL600E modem which i just bought it not long ago. The problem that I am having with this modem is that when i am not using the internet for a period of time, it will disconnect itself and can't reconnect. I have to click 'repair' on my LAN connection then only afterthat i can reconnect and can surf the internet back to normal.

When i keep using the internet or keep downloading stuff, the modem won't disconnect and usually will run smoothly. It only disconnect when not in use.

Anyone has this problem too? What can i do to fix the problem?
using bridge mode.

p.s lucky is not the other way round.(disconnect when using)
