URGENTLY need help here .....PLS Help me any1...

I bought sapphire ati 5670 today..
Then when i install into my mobo..Nth came out..screen blank and don't have the usual beep sound when the bios boot up...
What happen here??
When i replace back my old gc..straight away got display..
My mobo is k8nf-9..very old mobo..but still pci-e ma rite?
My psu is also more than enuff to support tis card..what is wrong here?
Do i need to update my bios?..
My housemate told me could be the card is faulty
But i do not have any other pc to try
