Can't shut down!

Hello there, I've been having shut down problems for the past month. My problem is when I turn off my computer, Windows XP will go thru the usual process of shutting down my computer; it closes all running programs, then proceeds to the screen "Saving your settings", then when it comes to "Windows is shutting down", it just hangs there. I checked all my drivers and all are working properly. Does anybody know what's wrong? Thanks a lot in advance.

Com hangs during WinXP startup

Hey guys, I just reformatted my comp, everything went fine, I managed to get into windows. The problem is, after installing drivers for the mobo, graphics card, sound card, etc, after rebooting, the comp hangs at the WinXP startup screen. It's just stuck there and the bar isn't moving at all. Has anyone experienced this before?

BSOD Random Restart

Hey guys, I'm having some problems with my RAM slots (I guess). I'm using DFI Infinity NF4, with 2 x 512MB DDR400 PC3200 Kingston Value Rams. There are 4 ram slots on the board, but only 2 works properly. Whenever i put the rams into that 2 particular slots, my com restarts randomly, with BSOD as attached. Is it due to compatibility issues between the mobo and the rams? I've attached the minidump files as well. Please advise. Thanks!

Hey guys, last time I came across a code where we type into the RUN command prompt to bring up the settings page for the services and programs that will be loaded when we start Windows. Unfortunately, I've forgotten what the "magic word" is. Can anyone please help me? Thanks a lot.

DFI Mobo

Hey guys, I'm using a DFI Infinity NF4 motherboard, which is almost 1.5yrs old. Ever since i got it, I've had some problems with the RAM slots, when my 512MB DDR400 Kingston RAMs were fitted to the first and second slots, my computer randomly reboots without any BSOD or whatsoever. I tried fitting the RAMs to the 3rd and 4th slots and no probs after that. I asked around and someone said i had to flash my BIOS to the latest version, but at that time i was aware of the risks of flashing BIOS, and since my com is working fine after relocating the RAMs, I didn't do it. Now I'm planning to upgrade to Vista, and I guess it's about time I get the latest BIOS version as well.

My question is, does the current version of BIOS that I have now support Windows Vista? I checked with CPU-z and my BIOS is by Phoenix Technologies, version 6.00PG, dated 13/6/2006. If I do get an update, should I get the one with the latest date? Thanks a lot guys.

DFI BIOS website

hello all, i lent my laptop to a friend of mine for a week, and i think he must have installed some appearance tweaking programs on it, coz now the welcome screen is not the default winxp welcome screen (it is the screen where u login to ur user account when windows starts). i haven't figured out how to change it, and I am hoping someone could point me at the right direction ?

thank you.
