I have a P4 1.6GHz and found it quite slow. So I plan to upgrade the processor. I saw some people sell P4 2.4/2.66/2.8GHz. How do I check whether my motherboard can support or not?

I heard if my Mobo cannot support, the will not increase even i put in 2.8GHz, is it correct?

Here is info of my Mobo:
VIA® P4X266A (NB) & VT8233/A (SB), or P4X266A/E-8233 (shown in CPU-Z)
