Modem change

Hi to all the sifus, I'd like to ask for some opinions here.

My unifi fibrehome modem's los light is blinking red, no internet connection but phone line, router also ok & no maintenance/problem in the area. Asked in Tmchat, if they send a field technician, I will have to pay RM53 just to come and check but I didn't go for it. Package upgraded gets no free replacement for the units. Different from what TMpoint USJ told me, but I have no black and white papers for that.

I'm guessing probably the modem is already dead.. so:
1) Is it better to change just a modem or modem+router? But since i've already have a working asus router so... any suggestions? Budget probably around RM100~300.

2) I'm using 50mpbs, eligible for the free upgrade to 100mbps later. Contract ended long time ago. Should i dump it and go for a new contract (free modem etc.)? Or if any isp is giving similar benefits.

I have an old recond Kawai upright that my parents bought about 15 yrs ago. The last tuning it had was about 2 yrs ago, the technician said it requires an overhaul but the price he quoted was kinda expensive so I said no.

Can anyone pls recommend any good shops around Subang that do overhaul repairs with reasonable price?

Subang SS15 - Anything better than Streamyx?

The current connection i share is a streamyx 1.0 which is quite unstable. Now the owner of the acc is moving out so i gotta get a new connection. Just wondering if there's anything better than streamyx.

Subang SS15(Rental). Mainly for torrent d/l, little or no online gaming. Budget around RM100/month, preferably just 1 year contract.

Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.
