Mobile Internet in Australia (roaming)

Im flying to australia tomorrow midnight. Wondering what to use in australia for internet?

AM currently using Digi. Unlimited international data roaming is RM36 A DAY.

I checked out a telco in australia, eg Vodafone, The prepaid internet mobile costs AUD2 = RM6 per MB (re: http://www.vodafone.com.au/personal/prepai...caps/index.htm)

Im also using a celcom UOX prepaid but I dont think they hv international mobile internet.

Any other suggestions?

3d Rendering Freelancing Questions (urgent)

Hi guys,

I've been given a project to create a 'photo-realistic' rendering of an existing 3d Model that is blank. The end result must look like the actual project has been put into a photo studio and shot a few times - some zoomed in for details, etc. Based on the telephone conversation, it sounds like I hv to add in the lighting and textures and particularly details about the light refractions on glass materials (i hv a feeling his model has lots of glass surfaces).

A bit of background : I have a basic in 3d modelling in 3dsMax and Unreal Editor. I've done a few freelancing jobs doing Print and web media but this is the first time Im having a (paid) 3d project to do. College work doesnt count

Based on my noob experience, I don't mind charging a little less for the experience but I still dont want to charge too little that it spoils the market. So now, my question is, how much should I charge for this? What is the market rate?

Hi Guys,

Im planning to collect various RSS feeds and input them into a database (to retrieve later) but I have no idea how to go about doing it. I'm familiar with PHP (learnt it while fiddling with Wordpress) and a bit of MySQL calling. but that's about it.

Im currently looking into SimplePie.org to see if its possible to use that, reading documentation from scratch.

Would appreciate any pointers. thanks

I believe that some people in this forum is always asking questions about Paypal.

Here is a simple step by step on how to verify your paypal using your Maybank debit card. Previously, it was disabled but Im glad that now maybank allows us to do this.

Update 10/1/12 : Some people have confirmed that there is no need for MSOS registration anymore. So I have hidden these steps (Step One & Step Two) in spoilers. Please proceed straight to >> STEP THREE

Step Three
Login to www.paypal.com with your paypal email & password.

In the My Account tab, click Profile and Add/Edit Credit or Debit Card.

Key in the details of your Maybank Visa Debit Card. Make sure the address is exactly the same as your billing address.

Step Five
You will then get a verification email to your paypal account saying that you have successfully linked your card. And now all you have to do is wait for the code.

Step Six
Okay this is important : Wait for about ONE DAY before doing the following steps**

Login to your Maybank2u again and click on Accounts & Banking, then click on your Account number for your Account Details.

Then click on Debit Card History. You should then see an entry with the word “Paypal”. The code is the 4 numbers before the word Paypal.

Eg: PREAUTH SALE 8921PAYPAL-*EXPUSE DATED 06/08/09
Paypal Code : 8921

**If you check your account too early, you might not see the details of the transaction and would not be able to get the code

Step Seven
Log in to www.paypal.com and click on Profile, then Add/Edit Credit or Debit Card.

Click on Enter Paypal Code and enter the code you obtained in Step Six.

Success!
And now you have successfully linked your Maybank Visa Debit Card to your Paypal. You will get the refund of USD1.95 to your Paypal account.

:: NOTES ::

* If you have problems linking your card, check to make sure the details of the card is all correct – especially the Address. If all else fails, call the Maybank customer service.
* I have no idea why USD 1.00 is also deducted along with the USD 1.95 when we verify the card. I didn’t have this extra charge when verifying with Al-rajhi Visa Debit Card
* I have not tried to withdraw from Paypal to my card but I’ll be happy to hear your comments if you did try. Remember that Paypal charges USD5 per withdrawal.

Most recent was 1 keyword for a specific blog post. I got offered 50USD for 3 mths. Now i got another offer for a text link ad that is site-wide (meaning its not on a particule post but mayb somewhere on the side bar) but I need to set a price

embedding SWF not working in PHP

Im not really sure whether to put this in the Webmasters & Bloggers subforum or the codemasters. but then again, since its more about the coding then blogging, I'm putting it here.

Im currently working on this complicated theme for wordpress - Red Carpet. Its free and can be downloaded here. Its a really2 nice theme that has separate templates for photo gallery, news & video - which makes it complicated

Currently, the top ads (ads next to the logo) is a gif file sized 468x60. However, i need a bigger banner at the top part - 460x90px and it needs to be in swf.

The Problem
Ok so the ads show in the main page, but when i click any of the links on top (the categories) - Photos, Movies, etc - it only gives me a blank black box with a white outline instead of loading the swf.

Any idea where I went wrong?

NEED HELP! Burned DVDs have errors

I just bought a new LiteOn DVD burner. The DVDs i'm using are Mitsubishi which has never failed me so far.

Problem is, after i burn my AVI files into the DVD, I can play only the first few (4-5) files, and the rest gives me an error of "File cannot be read" in VLC Player. I used 2 programs to burn - Nero9 and ImgBurn

With Nero 9, I get these errors during verifying

with ImgBurn (a free burning program which I've used successfully before), i get this error:

Both is on the slowest setting. I've already upgraded firmware for the burner. still same error.

Any idea how to fix this. kinda urgent!

Graphic Novels

Graphic novels are comic books that are aimed at a more mature audiences. (Read More). I'm sure everyone is familiar with movies such as Sin City and 300. Well those are adapted from Graphic Novels - Frank Miller's to be precise.

A friend introduced it to me some time back and since then I've been hooked. Currently reading Fables by Bill Willingham

Hi guys,

I was previously using a k800i for two years and it served me well. However, it went swimming and the cost to repair the phone is more than if i were even to resell it. I'm actually aiming for the SE C905 but havent fully decided yet.

I prefer something with a good camera because I prefer an all-in-one device. Something that has wifi would be nice. I dont really do 3g calls. A good organizer & phonebook that syncs with rainlendar (preferred) or Gmail (for contacts) or outlook is a must.

My budget is UNDER 2k. Also would prefer something that comes in Black or dark colours
