Boot screen didn't appear

My fren laptop did not show or display a boot screen.. just apparently come up at welcome screen.. i cannot enter cmos or boot menu... even i've tried to press [del] or [esc] that r a common cmos shortcut or try to enter boot menu [f8].. it just not working.. why ar? My fren request me to fix this.. i've no answer.. Is it virus?

If system restore applied to failure pc

Wondering if system restore is applied into pc that has been infected by virus(dun now what kind of virus) that cause a system instability..
after restoring computer to a date that i believe no data transferring from my thumb drive..
pc have been working normally but not sure if the virus is still exists.. or still active..
Scanning with anti-virus showing that no virus detected but still wondering where the virus go after restoring?
