Ultra Europe 2024 / Tomorrowland 2024

Hi guys/girls,

I'm planning for a trip to either Tomorrowland or Ultra Europe next year (2024) - 2 of the biggest music festivals in the world and would like to see if anyone would like to join me carrying the Malaysian flag

The high-level planning would be as follows. These are not firm, so there is still room for improvisation.

1. Duration of travel : max of 2 weeks. (2 days would be consumed by flight duration) These festivals may be held over two weekends with the same lineup, so covering one weekend(3 days) would suffice. the rest of the days can be used to visit the neighboring countries . To be decided later but it would be max 2 additional countries given the max travel duration.

2. Date of travel : based on the past years, these festivals are usually held in the month of July, so i'm anticipating that next year would be in July 2024 too

3. Travel concept : backpacking - hostels, homestays , public transport , not-so fancy foods would be definitely be part of the itinerary

4. Travel destinations : Possible combo -
i. Tomorrowland -Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg/Germany or
ii. Ultra Europe - Croatia, Austria or Czech Republic

5. Budget - based on my preliminary research, RM10k - RM15k (flights, in town transportation, accommodation, food, event tix) would be able to cover a 12-days trip. time is of essence , so for some of the expenses, the earlier the bookings are done, the cheaper it'll be .

Just to give you an idea of these festivals

1. Tomorrowland (held in Boom, Belgium - in the city) -

This would be my maiden trip to both the festival and Europe, so i'm looking to make it as adventurous and memorable as possible.

i believe a group of max 4 ppl would be a comfortable travel size to optimize the communications, planning, cost sharing, accommodation, travelling, etc.

Since this needs a very thorough planning, and travelling with new ppl is not something ive done before , so it's good to kick start the get-to-know phase as early as possible before getting into the finer details.

What route did u use to secure a job (LinkedIn, headhunted, through recruiter) and subsequently the work permit (Critical skills EP, general EP, spouse EP) ?

Is there a huge Malaysian community there and generally how are the locals towards South East Asians?

one thing i cant seem to confirm is the living cost for an individual in Dublin or Cork.

Anyone Recently Hired a Maid on their Own

Hi All,

i would like to know the experience, processes and costs involved in hiring a maid on our own.

i did visit the SMO website but it wasn't very detail, so was hoping to get some feedback here if anyone had this experience recently.

I would like to get a some inputs on the following:

1. do we identify the maid on our own and then just proceed with the SMO processes? For example, if i finalize a maid in a foreign country , do i then need to submit the person's details
through SMO and once approved, only then i can fly the maid in ?
or
do we need to fly in the maid on social pass and then submit all the applications and once approved change the permit type?

2. what is the pay range like and we dont have to pay additional for food and accommodation right coz they will be basically staying with us? do we need to follow the malaysian minimum salary?

3. Levy and FOMEMA are yearly expenses?

I would appreciate any input .
