Hi All,

Planning to get a new laptop soon. I have been using dell for more than 5 years and the screen is starting to die

I had the warranty extended to 4 years and in the last 2 months before expired the inspiron went KO nd I had the motherboard and screen replaced. was quite happy since its all done on site. but now looking for a gaming laptop but the G series does not seem to be having good thermal so will have to look for other brands.

Can you guys share how was your service & warranty claims with your laptops? would like to know how other brands are doing on the after sales side.

zoom problems

my son is using zoom for his tuition now, however, it works fine for others but terrible for one particular teacher's lessons

here is the issue

- it happens only on the lesson for this teacher
- the lesson is around 8pm-10pm
- the problem is zoom always exit on its own. it was very bad last night where each try only lasted less than 5 minutes

I tried to use 3 different ISPs, 2 laptops, 2 android tablets, ipad & phone and all also gave the same problem

- on the PC, whenever zoom exits the wifi connection is disconnected as well. I tried to set the connection to auto connect, but once zoom exits, the auto connect check box is cleared as well. when I checked on the other PC, the wifi is still connected and internet is still working.

- then I tried to connect the PC by cable. while the connection via cable is still connected zoom will exit on its own too. but when I try to reconnect again it says password error.

- on android, once it is disconnected my wifi connection is disconnected and the saved password is cleared. I will have to key in the wifi password again

anyone having such issue with zoom? Hope can help me out on how to solve the problem.

i have a friend recommended me a condo.

its actually 2 units side by side where the owner have break the wall to make it into 1 big unit

the price is selling around 50% market rate but I was told that the is no assessment don't on the unit yet so getting a bank loan may be a problem.

I am not familiar with property issues so hope some sifu here can give some advise

My question:

1. what is this 'assessment' thing?

2. can the owner apply to do an assessment? how much will it cost?

3. what would be the risk to buy such property?

Hi Sifus,

I am currently looking for a laptop for games & work. Budget is around 5k-6k

Hoping to get something with i7 9750, 16GB ram & rtx 2060. But my main priority is the customer support as I use this for work as well, so any thing goes wrong I can't effort to have it in the service center for days hence I have been using Dell all this while due to the onsite service repair.

I notice now lenovo/acer is also doing onsite repair so wonder anyone have tried that before?

internet speed drop when on wireless

I have a 10Mbps line at home.

When I am connected to the router (DLINK DIR-605L) by cable I can get around 8-9Mbps, but when connected on wireless it drops to around 5-6Mbps only

any solution to this?
