Car Repair advice

Hi I need to ask your opinion on this. I don't really know about cars so I thought of asking advice before going for car service.

The story goes:

It has been some time since I service my car(Wira 1.5), exceeded the oil change kilometre i think, but i kept on driving until one day I notice the light of change oil on dashboard blink awhile then off. Then I send to shop and it says my car consume engine oil.

To fix it, 1 shop say have to change oil seal and it costs RM 250. Another shop says have to overhaul(change oil seal, piston ring and some other parts), almost 1 week and costs RM 2000. I don't know who's telling the truth or do I really need to change more parts?

I didnt repair yet, just added oil to engine. now thinking the 2 options. HELP please! =)

I used VGA to connect from my ASUS A42J laptop to Samsung B2330 before this and I have no problem.

But when I use HDMI, the display becomes not sharp. terrible issue. Anyway, I found a thread that states this already.

1) IS IT ILLEGAL to kiss in car?

2) Even if they wan saman you, do they need evidence? (eg picture or video to use as evidence?)

3) If no physical evidence, can their partner testify as the witness to the incident?

Hard disk performance

Wanted to ask cos I am recommending friend's notebook Asus A42j to have 7200RPM hard disk.

Current Spec: Momentus 5400.6 SATA 3Gb/s 500-GB Hard Drive

Planned Upgrade: any 7200 RPM hard disk. (320GB or 500 GB)

My question is:

1) Will laptop achieve better and faster performance? (Frequently open a few heavy applications, Visual Studio, SQL Server, Firefox, Chrome and Music Player, video player all at same time)

2) should upgrade to 320GB or 500GB?

3) 320 or 500 have 1 platter or 2 platters? (I heard less platter less seek time, so if 320GB then it's faster?) Don't mind capacity, friend want performance as got external to store data

4) Does HDD cache matter?

5) Any recommendation of reliable 7200 RPM HDD?

6) Heat issues, is there any possibility that 7200 RPM HDD is too hot in a laptop? If touch the laptop after some gaming, can feel the harddisk is warmer than anywhere on the laptop.

Please advise. thanks

Currently im in 2nd year, but i've been wondering what field i should be focusing in for future job market. The course im taking is Bachelor in Information Technology. It focuses more on programming.
