using gear to slow down

i've been doing this for quite sometimes, & i wanna ask.
for manual driver, i'm sure u got use low gear to "drag" ur car b4, especially when going downhill.
good way to slowdown without applying too much brake.

is there any side effect on doing so?
& technically, does it waste fuel coz when u do that, the rev is high of coz.

Cant start engine

as per title, my wira 1.5M was running fine just yesterday, but this morning, unable to start.

1) first, i try to start it, i heard som sound, linda like spark sound. similar to say u suddenly on the power on your speakers system at home.

2) next few tries, it's completely dead, not even slightest engine sound.

3) then, suddenly can start.

4) drive a bit like 500m, then i try kill the engine, again, connot start. completely dead. cant even on lights.

5) jump start using cables manage to start it. but again, if if kill the engine, it acannot start back.

what do u guys reckon the problem is?
battery? starter? alternator?

hai, i want to ask, what is the procedure of buying a 2nd hand car?
situation as bellow:

1) no car checking or bank loan require.
2) payment done personally.

so, what i wanna know is simple..
i know dat in order to change ownership, just need to do it at JPJ.

wat i wanna know is, how about the insurance & road tax stuff?

1) do i need to re-buy new insurance?
2) does the road tax still stands till the date the previous owner renewed?
