Looking for barbells and cast iron weights

Dear All,
I'm moving back to Malaysia after staying overseas for over 5 years. And during those years I have had my own weights. Since it's a hassle to move all back to Malaysia, I would like to ask fellow LYN members about who, where and how do I get hold of gym stuff for relatively cheap price. Thank you.

Yours sincerely,
ennyong1985

Create a Fitness Club

Hi all,

My name is Kevin. I recently been back to Malaysia from the UK and have seen the gym prices to have sky rocketed. I am an avid gym goer and would like to bring Malaysia sports standard to a higher note. But on the gym area, I have seen fitness coaches who are well trained but seemed unhappy. I had one friend who his fitness coach left the gym and care nothing about my friend. I am a bit shock to see irresponsible professional coaches. But I would like to know about what is fellow LYN members regarding gyms and sports standards? I want to know what your thoughts are? But before that below is my business plan.

Fitness gym with attached Olympic-size football pitch and basketball court which can be converted to 4 badminton courts. There would be a full size gym as well as free weights area. Maybe an overhead swimming pool maybe added. Initially membership is required to enter pool and gym. Members and non-members can book the use of courts and football pitch. There are times of the day, month and year where the whole building will not be utilized. Hence the idea of employing coaches to organize football training camps, badminton camps, basketball camps as well as swimming with water polo to aid income but also to improve sports awareness and standards in Malaysia. External coaches would also be employed to serve in schools. Of course this would depend on the location. Optional hostels can be built on site if there's response for students graduating from Form 5 but studying in Kuala Lumpur or Petaling Jaya and want to have such facilities at their doorstep. It's like a sports village but open to public.

If this sports village is a success, I would then plan to built a similar set up in the UK. And of course with connection to a British football club which is owned by the sporting village. I feel overseas exposure is important for anyone. But all are still in planning stage.

Fellow LYN members do please give you ideas and thoughts on this. Whether it will work? Or whether it's totally foolish idea. Thank you.

Will the new MBP feature a Quad Core Processor?

As far as I understand, the latest MBP featured multitouch. But what I am looking for is actually a mobile Quad-core processor with good graphic card. The latest version is not too bad on the graphic part but still feel there is something missing. Please tell me any rumours you have or what have you heard.

One thing that irks me is that the graphic card on the MBPs are under-clock which makes it less-power consuming...

Dear all,
I know this will sound damn crude but I just need some help on how to choose what is the best things out there for my first custom desktop.
I would like all hardware sellers or nice people out there to give me some pointers but I also have narrowed down what I want. As below

1. Processor - Two Intel XEON 5400 Quad-core 3.2GHz
2. Motherboard - Not sure which is the best but I would prefer 'RAM' slots that can support up to 8GB or 16GB and
* One PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot
* Two PCI Express x4 slots
3. RAM - 2 x 2GB
4. Sound Card - Any good ones around? The ones that can make songs to karoke version?
5. HDD - 2 x 500GB SATA 3Gb/x; 7200 rpm; 16MB Cache (if got better ones please let me know)
6. Optical Drive - Super Drive with dual layer support
7. Wireless - Network Card and internal Wireless Card
8. Cooling System - I know that having two processors and a powerful graphic card needs a good cooling system. Please recommend.
9. Other peripherals like mutltiple USB Ports, mic jack, headphone jack, etc.

As you can see, I don't really know many things about building a PC. So people please help me out here.

10. Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 OEM

My total budget is RM4000 maximum but if you can offer me around RM2500-RM3000 I will consider it seriously and sincerely even if the specs differ a little from what I want. Thank you.

PM me or MSN me at ennyong@hotmail.com

Cheers
