DHCP only for authorized people

We have limited IP
our leased range 1-199 , 200-254 is servers and equipements

server 2012 leasing the IP address. We have tons of AP in our company

How do you handle when someone just plug in their laptop and access to your network to get internet access?
Or mobile phone just simply tab to your company wifi

We have Wifi password but they shared out to even operators.
I was told to use DHCP function, instead of using the function block ip/mac , use the function ONLY allow MAC address in the list.

Will this be troublesome? Each time we have batch of PC coming in we have to punch in their MAC address or special guest /customers?

Increase DHCP pools

I'm currently administrating a small network, but due to many people here using smartdevices our dhcp pool all used up.

we are on
192.168.1.x
255.255.255.0

currently using fedora dhcp, but already bought and setup win2008r2 dhcp

Most servers and router are assigned dynamic ip and MAC address are assigned with appropriate IP address.
I'm planning to shutdown DHCP service on fedora and active Win2008 dhcp soon.

Can I just change my dhcp subnet to 255.255.252.0 ? that will give me a roughly 1000 ips to use
http://www.subnet-calculator.com/subnet.php?net_class=B
Do i need to set anything else if i do so? Can PC among peer still communicate with each other?

What is the easiest way without minimal downtime and knowledge(heh).

Thanks.. really need help SOS here... I'm kinda tired to kick people to free Ips..

thanks

Hello, can someone tell me if im doing it correctly (for optimum speed) with my stacking.

Figure A:

4 x Gigabit switch 24 ports , say Switch A as SA, Switch B as SB, etc
Windows 2003 as File Server and apps server
Domain Controller.
2mb adsl up/down router

SB , SC , SD Connect to SA
File Server Connect to SA
Domain Controller to SA
Router to SA

All clients PC from different dept connect to SA, SB , SC, SD.

I was told I'm doing it WRONG !.

I was suggested >>
Figure B:
Get an 8 ports Gigabit switch name it Core Switch ---- CS

SA, SB, SC, SD connect to CS
File server to CS
Router to CS
All clients PC from different dept connect to SA, SB , SC, SD.

Figure A or B is better?
How to backup RAID0

Hi, hope u guys can help.

I have 2 hardisks, 160gb... i made a raid0. From that approx 300gb, I made 2 partitions, c and D.
I installed Win2003 svr on C and data on D. Now that I can hear hardisk clicking sounds, and I think my hardisk is failing soon.

My questions is how do I backup my hardisk ?.. I have 2 spare similar hardisk 160gb x 2.

The solution I got so far is :
1) Buy 1 huge hardisk and ghost c and d over it.
2) plug the 2 extra hardisk to the pc and made RAID 1+ 0 and mirror the image over. (this is too complicated)
3) install backup softtware like Acronis and backup the whole hardisk to CDR, but 200gb will use lotsa cdr, then again how am i going to restore ?
Replace new HD, install win2003, install acronis and restore? then the old win2003 i backup will overwrite the new one and system will crash..

Pls advise

[addedon]March 5, 2008, 10:17 pm[/addedon]anyone ?.

--
