yhey, i need software to check for bad sector.
i suspect there are bad sector in my hdd due to fall.
I cant see amount of bad sector of XP built in tools.
any other good software recommendation?

Fail to boot from live CD

As topic above, my laptop fail to boot from puppy linux live cd.
It get styck at 'loading kernel driver'
This also causing me unable to boot acronis true image.
FYI, the cd can be boot by other pc.

As topic above, my ext hdd has some problems...
1. it can be read but canot be write.
2. there is 'invalid ms-dos function'..notice
3. Sometimes there is ' write delay fail'
4. Hapennd to 2 pc

MBR n GRUB

AS topic above, I have a few question regarding MBR n GRUB.
1. A hdd without any os installed even once, the MBR is empty, right?
Now, I hve two hdd, hdd X n hdd Y.
Hdd X is for WIndows n Hdd Y is for linux.
2.If i set pc boot to hdd X,I will straight away boot into windows directly?
3.When I install linux in hdd Y, i need to have GRUB?After i remove linux...just left grub like that?
