The Porsche Macan has just been launched in Malaysia, with official prices finally confirmed. The range – four in total – will start at RM420,000 for the base Macan, which is RM30,000 less than the estimated pricing Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP) released last May.

This base model is powered by a 2.0 litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine from the Volkswagen Group, which has 237 hp and 350 Nm (from 1,500 to 4,500 rpm). It’ll do 0-100 km/h in 6.9 seconds, on to a top speed of 223 km/h through a standard seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. It’s claimed to consume just 7.2 litres per 100 km in the combined cycle.

Next in line is the Macan S Diesel, going for RM545,000 – RM5,000 down from the estimated price. Its 3.0 litre turbodiesel V6 engine makes 245 hp and 580 Nm of torque, and gets to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds (6.1 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono package). Top speed is 230 km/h, and it’ll average between 6.3 to 6.1 litres per 100 km.

On to the petrol-powered Macan S, the RM560,000 sporty SUV gets a 3.0 litre twin-turbo V6 engine with 340 hp and 460 Nm of torque. Performance is well up from the two lesser models, with 0-100 km/h done in 5.4 seconds (5.2 with Sport Chrono) and 254 km/h top whack. Fuel wise, it’ll use 8.7 to 9.0 litres per 100 km.

The top-of-the-range Porsche Macan Turbo goes for RM785,000. The big asking price nets you a 3.6 litre twin-turbo V6 motor which does 400 hp and 550 Nm of torque. The century sprint is over in 4.8 seconds (4.6 with Sport Chrono) and the top speed is 266 km/h. If you have to ask, it’ll do 8.9 to 9.2 litres per 100 km.

Standard features vary between the four models, but each will have a long list of optional extras. Bigger wheels (up to 21-inches), exterior/interior carbon-fibre add-ons, air suspension, they’re all available, limited only by your wallet depth. Watch out, Range Rover Evoque, the Macan is here to eat you up.

Fiesta 1.0L Ecoboost Launched!

The Ford Fiesta 1.0 EcoBoost has been officially introduced in Malaysia – the range-topping model of the facelifted B299 Fiesta range arrives seven months after the 1.5 Sport hatch and Titanium sedan made their local debut, and completes the local Fiesta lineup.

The EcoBoost variant only comes in hatchback form, and officially has a Sport+ designation, though the badging still denotes it as an S version, with an EcoBoost emblem on top of it to identify the car.

It’s of course powered by the award-winning 998 cc EcoBoost three-cylinder turbo GDI mill, in its higher 125 PS at 6,000 rpm and 170 Nm at 1,400 to 4,500 rpm output tune (there’s a 100 PS version in overseas markets). The engine, which comes from Ford’s Romanian engine plant in Craiova, is paired to a PowerShift six-speed dual-clutch transmission, namely the Getrag 6DCT250.

Aside from being equipped with the two-time International Engine of The Year winner (in 2012 and then again last year), the Fiesta Sport+ is virtually identical in terms of features and kit to the 1.5 litre variants, save a few bits.

These items are a full bodykit with splitter-mounted daytime running lights below the foglamps and a Safety Pack with its full complement of seven airbags (front driver and passenger, side, curtain and driver’s knee) to the 1.5 litre Sport and Titanium’s two. EcoBoost decals on the bonnet and sides of the car round off the differences.

That’s from the outside – the interior, meanwhile, is indistinguishable from the 1.5 unless you’re eagle-eyed and spot the extra airbag markers on the trim. Everything, from the black gloss trim down to the shade of the partial leather/fabric seats, is identical to that on the 1.5. No change to the plastics either, which means there’s no soft touch dash or upper door card areas.

In terms of equipment, all that’s found on the 1.5 is here, and that includes ESP, hill launch assist, smart keyless entry and push-start ignition, auto headlamps/rain-sensing wipers, Ford SYNC and a six-speaker audio system as well as a single-zone, fully-automatic EATC climate control unit.

In terms of exterior shades, the 1.0 litre EcoBoost Fiesta is available in three colours, Arctic White, Panther Black and True Red. The black is unique to the EcoBoost model in facelift form (conversely, the 1.5 Sport has Chilli Orange, Metropolitan Gray and Celestial Blue in its colour palette).

As for pricing, the car goes for RM93,888 on-the-road without insurance, and comes with a five-year or 200,000 km warranty as well as Ford’s Extended Service Plan (ESP), a free three-year or 60,000 km maintenance programme that covers parts and labour free of charge.

W222 Mercedes-Benz S-Class launched in Malaysia

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has introduced the W222 Mercedes-Benz S-Class in Malaysia – the new flagship arrives here 10 months after its debut in Hamburg, and the local charge is fronted by the S 400 Hybrid, which is set to go the local assembly route. Three other variants will be available to order, these being the S 500 and S 63 AMG as well as the S 400 petrol, all CBU units.

First up, the S 400 Hybrid, which is powered by a 3.5 litre V6 CGI engine as found in the S350 CGI, with 306 hp at 6,500 rpm and 370 Nm and 3,500 to 5,250 rpm; here, it’s paired with a 27 hp and 250 Nm electric motor integrated between the engine and the 7G-Tronic Plus gearbox. Performance figures include a 0-100 km/h time of 6.8 seconds, a 250 km/h top speed and a combined fuel consumption of 6.3 litres per 100 km.

The S 500 wears a 4.6 litre V8 offering 455 hp at 5,250 rpm and 700 Nm at 1,800 to 3,500 rpm, and it’ll manage to get to 100 km/h from standstill in 4.8 seconds, with combined fuel consumption rated at 8.6 litres per 100 km. As for the S 63 AMG, its 5.4 litre V8 is good for 585 hp and 900 Nm, and it’ll do the century dash in 4.4 seconds.

The international launch report has covered much of the W222 in detail, so we’ll just recap the main points and identify the salient features, as well as those for the Malaysian-spec cars. The S-Class is available in two looks, regulation and AMG Sports Package, which of course dresses it up – we’ll be getting the base form look.

The Malaysian W222 will get LED Intelligent Light System headlamps as standard (it’s actually an option, and replaces the stock LED High Performance units), and likewise, a Burmester Surround Sound audio system is fitted in place of the base 10-speaker system.

Elsewhere, you’ll find an Air Balance perfume atomisation package and Thermotronic climate control – with two additional zones to improve thermal comfort – in the kitbag, in addition to a twin-spoke multifunction steering wheel wrapped in Nappa leather, DVD player and rear head restraint cushions.

The S 400 Hybrid will be equipped with an Airmatic suspension, while the S 500 will come with Magic Body Control. The system – an option for eight-cylinder models, but ticked for the Malaysian car – adjusts the air suspension automatically in anticipation of uneven terrain.

The interior features a double screen instrumentation binnacle design, with 12.3-inch high resolution TFT screens in 8:3 aspect ratio utilised for both displays. As for space, the W222 offers 12 mm extra headroom, 14 mm more shoulder room and 10 mm more elbow room for the front occupants, as well as additional 14 mm in rear knee room and 9 mm increased shoulder room for the rear occupants, despite the wheelbase dimensions remaining the same as the outgoing W221/V221 long wheelbase model.

A total of five different configurations for the rear seat are available for the V222 long wheelbase model, with the top of the line being an Executive seat, with a backrest angle adjustable by up to 43.5 degrees, allowing occupants in the rear to concentrate on work or relax in comfort.

The S 400 Hybrid CKD will also feature a Driving Assistance package Plus, which comprises
Distronic Plus with Steering Assist and Stop&Go Pilot, Brake Assist BAS PLUS with Cross-Traffic Assist, Pre-Safe Brake with pedestrian detection, Pre-Safe Plus, Active Lane Keeping Assist and Active Blind Spot Assist.

Also in the electronic mix are Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus, Attention Assist, Crosswind Assist and Night View Assist Plus. As for airbags, the S-Class is equipped with eight as standard.

A firm pricetag wasn’t revealed at the launch, though MBM says that the locally-assembled S 400 Hybrid will go for under RM900k, with a slight increase over the old CKD S 350′s RM888,888 price tag, so the math isn’t too difficult. Pricing for the S 500 starts from RM1.08 million and RM 1.6 million for the S 63 AMG.

PC can't detect external hard disk.

Hi guys there's a problem here.

My PC wont detect my hard drive. It won't even power up (normally it'll have a blue light when it's on.)

But the funny thing is that it works on other PC's.

The ports are fine, because it can detect other thumbdrives, phones what not.

I tried using all the other available USB ports, nothing happened.

I tried looking for drivers, but apparently there isn't such a thing.

I tried doing a system restore, nothing either.

HP Color LaserJet Cp1515n problem

Hi guys my printer has been having a problem recently.

Whenever it prints out JPEG files, the image comes out extremely blurry, like in 3D lol.

But it's fine when it ONLY prints documents which consists of words and no pictures.

I've tried resetting the printer to its default settings both on the printer itself and via the printer config section on the PC.

I don't exactly know what the name of this problem is so I don't actually know how to search for it on google .

Help?
