Project Cars, the ambitious racing game from Slightly Mad Studios, has gone gold according to the developer. That means production on the game is finished, and it is now ready to be put on discs and sent to shops ready for its 8 May release date.

The developer has also updated the games website with a full list of the tracks in the game. There are 30 locations in all, but 110 different layouts thanks to some tracks being available in multiple configurations.

The locations are deep breath - Nurburgring, Zio, Chesterfield, Cadwell Park, Sakitto, Summerton, Circuit de Spa, Sonoma Raceway, Brno, Willow Springs, 24h le Mans, Laguna Seca, Donington, Snetterton, Azure Coast, Azure Circuit, California Highway, Mount Panorama, Oulton Park, Road America, Watkins Glen, Brands Hatch, Dubai Autodrome, Hockenheim Ring, Imola, Monza, Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, Silverstone and Zolder.

Youll also be able to tear it up around pro karting tracks Greenwood and Glencairn.

We know the wait for the game to be released was worth it, as were confident the quality and realism level we have achieved will provide our fans with the game they are all expecting, said Ian Bell, head of the Slightly Mad studio.

F1 2012 will introduce a new Young Driver Test mode as one of the headline additions to the series that will take players even closer to the experience of becoming a FORMULA ONE driver.
