What you should do when your pets are pregnant

I have noticed that some people who did not research enough about their pets have a pregnant pet. These are what you should do

1. Don't panic. It is perfectly fine for your animals to be pregnant.
2. Give it some personal space. Mums tend to have mood swings
3. Give it a nutritious diet. Lots of vitamins, minerals and proteins help the mom and the baby
4. Treat the mother delicately. Don't be too rough, you may cause a miscarriage. Speak calmly, pet her and shower her with TLC
5. Take her to the vet to estimate the date of birth

Anymore? post please and hopefully we can spare the fate of the animals

Chihuahuas the mini packages of FUN

Don't you agree that they are cute, bug eyed, lil' creatures?

Here are some facts about a chihuahua

The Chihuahua is the smallest of all Toy dogs. It originated naturally, (without man's intervention) and is the only naturally occurring Toy dog. The smallest can be under 1 lb. and the largest up to 6 lbs. The American Kennel Club has accepted the Chihuahua Club Of America's Standard for the breed to read that anything over 6 lbs. is a disqualifying fault. The Chihuahua is not divided by sizes. There is no such thing as a Tea Cup or a Deer Chihuahua. A Chihuahua is a Chihuahua. The only differentiation is in the length of coat. The smooth coated variety is the most widely known, however the long coated variety is becoming more and more well known as it's popularity increases.

The Chihuahua is a very adaptable pet. It can live in many environments, but it prefers indoors or warmer climate. It is a small dog that should be treated with kindness and care. The Chihuahua can be trained to do numerous tasks such as bark at the doorbell, the phone, the oven timer bell, the microwave timer bell, the alarm clock, etc. and can be used as a service dog for this reason. It can be trained to be a companion dog and earn obedience awards or even agility and tracking awards. Many times Chihuahuas are used as therapy dogs in nursing and convalescent homes and hospitals. Their warm little bodies are so soothing and comforting to hold.

The Chihuahua has a very distinctive head, sometimes referred to as "apple head". The soft spot or fontanel, known as the MOLERA, is the same as in human babies. The Molera used to be regarded as a mark of purity. Chihuahuas can be born with or without the molera. It is unfortunate that even today, some lay people and even some veterinarians who are not familiar with the breed, diagnose the Chihuahua as hydrocephalic. This mis-diagnosis sometimes leads to unnecessary euthanasia. The lack of education about the molera has been and can continue to be very destructive. The presence of the molera does not predispose the Chihuahua to Hydrocephalus. *

There are many theories about the origin of the Chihuahua. The most popular theory is that it originated in Mexico and was found in the state of Chihuahua, thus the name, "Chihuahua".

Although the tiny new born Chihuahua is a very delicate thing, the Chihuahua is generally heartier than its' diminutive size would suggest. It should be of sturdy bone and have an outgoing temperament. It has become more and more popular in recent years and some of the more well known Chihuahuas are of a different type then generally is shown in the conformation ring. With more and more selective breeding, the Chihuahua will be with us a very long time and be suited to adapt to the many lifestyles of the 21st. Century.

The Chihuahua Standard describes the Chihuahua as having the general appearance of," A graceful, alert, swift moving little dog with saucy expression. Compact with terrier like qualities of temperament." A Chihuahua can be very graceful when in motion. The body should be slightly off square, the ears should be carried erect or at 10 and 2 o'clock when in repose. It should have a level top line and carry it's tail either up or over its' back as a sickle with the tip only slightly touching the top line. It should have equal reach with the front legs as drive from the rear legs. With its' apple head, scissors or level bite, beautiful round, dark or ruby luminous eyes, it is a beautiful little dog to behold. With the current efforts of breeders of quality Chihuahuas, the soundness of body and mind are improving.

The Chihuahua is a wonderful little dog to live with and to have fun with. It can train you to care for it if you will just watch, listen, and learn from it.

Please give me your names to add to the current chihuahua owners list

1.Lockheart

Kibou the long coat
