Budget Gaming PC help?

Hey guys,

I'm asking on behalf of a friend here but his PC recently kicked the bucket and is looking for the best bang for buck value gaming PC.

No peripherals like speaker/monitor just the system itself. Also no SSD

Must have an Ivy Bridge CPU and a small form factor i.e M-ATX mobo and case.

What i currently have in mind is

i5 3570
4GB Kingston value
MSI Z77 A-G43
Asus 6850
Coolermaster 370
Silverstone 500W

(Q&A) CPU Bottleneck-ing

So I was thinking it was time to upgrade something in my 3~ year old PC (see in my sig) and being rather short on expendable money I think I would go for upgrading the graphics card ye?

However, I was wondering if I upgrade not too high but to like uhhm 5870? Or something a bit better whether my processor would begin to bottleneck things being a Dualcore E8400 stock clock processor...

Also while i'm at it, what good value for money gpu would you recommend?

How did facebook get average 11ms ping?

I was checking facebook and it was noticeably much faster especially when searching photos and media. When i ping it on CMD...

Salang said the commitments would provide an adequate broadband to all universities and higher learning institutions in the country, as well as between the Malaysian Research and Education Network (MyREN) and other national research and education networks globally.

Telekom Malaysia Berhad ™ wishes to announce that there is a disruption of its Internet services due to circuit faults on the SMW3 between Tuas, Singapore and Penang linking Malaysia to Hong Kong and APCN2 near Chongming, China connecting Malaysia to the United States. As a result, customers using the Internet services may experience slow browsing while accessing websites hosted in the U.S. and Hong Kong.

In addition, customers using other IP services such as Virtual Private Network (VPN) and other critical business applications linked to the U.S. and Hong Kong may also experience some service degradation.

To alleviate the problem, some of the links have been rerouted to alternate routes to ease the congestion.

Restoration works on the affected cables are already in progress. However, during the restoration process, traffic to Northern America and Hong Kong may experience degradation. However, traffic to other countries will not be affected. TM expects complete recovery of its services by 5 April 2009 and will make further announcements on the progress of the restoration works.

TM wishes to assure its customers that it is undertaking all necessary measures to restore communications services for its customers as soon as possible.
Customers can call TM at 100 and select “Internet Services” or e-mail us at help@tm.com.my for any Internet related problems.

Hey guys my friend looking for 4K rm PC. lol finally getting one after 8 years

He mainly multi task like photoshop, Flash animate music etc but also wan play new games like crysis but NO overclock

And must have is

At least Gud 22" LCD screen
Biggest case he can get is mid size.
Like Intel processor oso.
Gud quad core is enuf no need i7
Need keyboard n mouse oso no need speakers
HDD minimum is 500GB

I was wondering whether to stop using the 4gb (2gb x 2 ) kingston value ram and change to 2gb OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 Reaper HPC Edition..

Or should i save up for 4GB OCZ Reaper...
OR get something else like Corsair or smthing..

Will it make a big difference?

I got very slow connection to sites like www.razerzone.com especially when i downloading drivergoes 3kb per sec. But loading like lowyat forum damn fast... Got bbc.co.uk/news which never loads but hotmail loads quite fast... very confusing for me

Is it my line or are other ppl getting this kind of speed with the same website oso?
Try the websites see if they load fast for you... then maybe my line... but...

and there are some wierd ones i nver heard off like giga broadband or persiasys ultraband.

Some look pretty decent like PersiaSYS ultraband : [one of the packages avaliable]

But now i have 1000rm budget increase!! RM4000 at my disposal. So heres what i planned so far...

Processor- Computer Pentium Duo Core E8400 3.00Ghz

Monitor- 22" SAMSUNG 226BW WideScreen 2ms

Grasphics Card- ATI Asus HD4870 (maybe TOP)

Ram- KINGSTON DDRII 800 1gb x2

That brings me to around RM38~3900. Any suggestion to fill the budget to the max? Improvements?
