last few weeks, this powerbank fell into water, so to avoid it from exploding (we can smell wire burning smell), we opened it up to cut off the cables.

surprisingly, after opened up, we found a piece of steel in it. what’s the purpose of the steel in it? it made the powerbank much heavier. Is this common in all Pineng 969 powerbanks? or the seller of this is a cheater?

u can refer to my attached pictures..
the steel itself weighs 160g!

Unifi wifi router recommendation

Hi Guys,

Currently I own this router:
TP-LINK 300Mbps Wireless N UniFi Router TL-WR841N wifi

After using for 1-2 years, now the wifi is getting disconnected very frequently (few times daily)..
So I'm planning to get another wifi router to replace this 1..
Is there any recommendations to replace it?
My budget is RM100 only.

And also, the wifi signal in my room is not so strong, sometimes 3 signals, sometimes drop to 1 signal..
If possible, hope to get a router with better wifi signal than my current 1..

Hi,
I'm planning to change my old Toshiba aircond to inverter models.
I have used this AC for about 8 or 9 years, without major problems besides capasitors spoilt.
So I have read a lot about the energy saving from inverters AC.
And I have also read about the motherboard issues... They are prone to insects and rats..
Some salesman even suggested me to get non-inverter R401 gas is enough, as they said the motherboard cost a lot if spoilt..
So after reading in the net, is it true that Panasonic and Mitsubishi compressors are really long lasting?
I'm worried about the repair costs might cost me a bomb...
Hope this poll can help me to make the right decisions...

Aerobus updated me that all the tickets must be used together.
So new price is updated, RM55 for 4 return tickets, each return ticket costs about RM13+ only.

New refrigerator not freezing the water

hi guys,

last night (20/08/2015) i purchased a new refrigerator, the brand is Hitachi, Model: R-WB560P2M.
however I noticed that the freezer failed to turn water into ice after 5 hours. I'm still counting the time it needed to turn to into ice, it's already much slower than my old fridge.

i need some help from experienced users, since i'm new to inverter fridges.

1. how long does a new fridge need to make ice?

2. what is the ideal temp for freezer and refrigerator? the default setting is -19° and 3°, is that enough to make ice cubes? the minimum temp for the freezer is -23°, but as per the userguide, it recommended -19°. any side effects of using 23°? higher electricity bill?

KWSP nomination list

Hi everyone,

I'm here to share my experience with KWSP.
I remembered that I had done the nominations at KWSP counters many years ago.
However, recently, when logged in to i-Akaun, I was prompted to do the nomination again as if I have never nominated before.
I was like WTF??

So I went to the KWSP counter to renominate.
Now, they require us to bring a witness in order to get the nomination done.
The witness cannot be anyone in the nomination list.
So you have to get someone you know to accompany you.

I have asked my friends, it seems that most of them experienced the same thing like me.

So guys, remember to check your i-Akaun periodically.
We never know when they will delete our nominations again.

Btw, recently I heard from someone, if the nomination person passed away, the % nominated to him/her will be given/donated to government.
I doubt that it's true... Hope if someone can update me.

Driving friend's car in Thailand

Not sure if this kind of topic has been posted before, but just need some information from forumers.
I'm going to Thailand and travelling by my friend's Thai car there.
I have checked and read that Malaysian Driving License is permitted to drive there.
However, I'm not sure if the permit is allowed to drive Thai cars?

Anyone who rented a car and drive in Thailand, are they giving us any kind of certificates to prove that we are allowed to drive there?

I'm worried the police will block me for not having that kind of "certificates".

As CNY is around the corner, I'm sure a lot of supermarkets/hypermarkets are going to have promotions for many type of drinks.
The one I'm interested to know is Anglia Shandy and Jolly Shandy.
2 weeks ago the price of these drinks are higher than this week.

So that we consumers do not need to pay more for these drinks, I created this thread for daily update of these drinks.
Today I found that Aeon Big Kepong was selling Anglia Shandy at RM28.88 per carton, but the question is, is that cheap?

I'm still looking for cheaper ones before start to buy a few cartons back.

Looking for cheapest prepaid simcard

Hi everyone..
I've been looking around for cheapest prepaid simcard in Malaysia.
This is because my friends are coming to visit for 1 week, so I'm planning to buy a simcard for them to use in case of emergency (so that I may contact them).
Since they are coming only for 1 week, it need to be valid only not more than 7 days.
I believe they might want to use it for internet sometimes.

Need some recommendations. I'm hoping to find starter pack not more than RM10 with 7 days validity.
