Singapore Employer cancelled at 11th Hour

long story short

My brother was supposed to leave next week to SG to start his new job. The company there had arranged for everything (employment pass, special approval to pass border, etc etc etc). Of course he had to quit his job here to make the move. Today he got a call from that company HR saying they are not looking for employee anymore and they said they would refund the flight ticket, the lady then hung up. My brother was super shocked and confused, unsure what happened as the HR person didnt offer any more details. He has a family and all he could think of is a his future, immediately he called his former boss and asked to rescind the tender notice. But it was too late, his last day for 2 days ago and that role is no longer around (no backfill). So now he has no job worried sick and depressed.

I dont really know how someone can do this and coolly walk away like nothing has happened. Im trying to help to see what i can do. Im sure this company has broken some law. We have all the documents, mails, even the new role SIM card!

Anyone has any experience in dealing with this? or know anyone who faced this. Can i engage our ministry or a lawyer heree to see what they can do? or must this be reported over in SG.

Im googling for answers, no direct answers. Will keep trying........

[WTA] Altis bumper replacement

im currently using a 2013 Altis pearl white and i would like to change the front bumper. I tried to do it via Toyota, but they quotes me almost 7K (new bumper, workmanship and paint). So instead i thought of getting the bumper from a halfcut shop. Im located in Klang/Puchong and there are plenty of shops available i know. Ive been to many and yet i cant find. Online also difficult to check, companies dont list/update their inventory, so need to visit the shop and see. here i am, hoping someone would know someone who has this? lol

GST - Celcom Blackberry

Im using BB Corp 148 plan,used to pay monthly RM197 until GST kicked in. Now its RM199.30 (this month onwards). My usage since last august to this march has always been below the committed fee RM148, so no extra charges and the monthly bill was the same till now...... I thought there shouldnt be any diff since the tax before and after GST is till 6% (before GST 6% service tax & after GST 6% GST tax).

I went through all the bills including this month and noticed this:

before GST:

committed fee RM148
BES license RM 38
SMS pack RM2
6% service tax RM9 [6/100 * 150 (RM148 + RM2)]
Total bill RM197

after GST:

committed fee RM148
BES license RM 38
SMS pack RM2
6% GST RM11.28 [6/100 * 188 (RM148 + RM2 + RM38)]
Total bill RM199.30 (including rounding adjustment 0.02)

I asked Celcom Cust Srv (via chat) and the gal wasnt able to answer my questions. Instead she said the GST is taxed based on the usage (this month usage was RM106.65) which doesnt add up. it seems BES license service wasn't taxed before GST. Only now. Any reason why? Thanks.
