[smart home] smart switch DIY

Looking for recommendation on smart switch. Understand there are few type of smart switches, eg:
1. wifi switch with neutral
2. wifi switch without neutral (but need to install capacitor)
3. zigbee switch (which needs hub)

Option 1 (wifi switch with neutral ):
- if we have neutral wire ready, then this would be the option to go for. If the existing switch don't have neutral wire, then it will be troublesome.
- what will happen if we didnot connect neutral wire in this case, will it causing any issue, unable to work ? any experience ppl can advise on this ?

Option 2: (wifi switch without neutral, need extra capacitor to install):
- for non-neutral type of smart switch, it will require capacitor to install in one of the light to avoid "flipping". this will be very disturbing especially this is being install in bedroom, the light will flip and disturb sleep.
- what will happen if we didnot install the "capacitor" or the "capacitor" is harder to install (eg: external lighting in garden/car porch)

Option 3: zigbee switch

- this will need zigbee hub in order to control the switch,
- Does this still require neutral wire? From the product manual, it looks like this is not need neutral wire as well as capacitor
- in term of wiring, this option would be the simplest.
- But how about the range? How far can we access the zigbee switch from the hub ? This might be another issue.

Please kindly share your experience and suggest the best method for wifi switches, thank you !

TM call for unify VIP 5 to 10M with + extra RM10

Does anyone got received call from tm net on the promotion upgrade from unify VIP5 to 10M with addition RM10 (RM149 --> RM159)?
Then next year will enjoy free upgrade from 10Mbps --> 30 Mbps ?

As my understand, we will enjoy free upgrade from 5Mbps --> 10Mbps starting next year.

Any comment of advise to add on extra RM10 from 5M to 10M and the main thing is to enjoy free upgrade from 10M --> 30M next year?
I not sure whether this is true or spam.

Typically, how much is the charge per visit for prenatal check-out?

Smart key entry & push button start car

Hi ladies and gentlemen,

Any recommendation on smart key entry and push button start car with price < RM100K (sedan family car) ?

Planning to buy a new car by end of 2013, some of under consideration are as below:
1. New Vios 2013 (which pending to be launched in Malaysia)
- Heard UMW won't put keyless on this car, does it true ???
2. New version of kia forte - Kia Cerato (launching on 2nd July 2013)
- No idea about the price tag yet.
3. City - too bad, don't have keyless
4. Prius C - Good car but too small for me
5. Insight - don't like its outlook.
6. Almera - don't like its outlook.
7. Elantra - looks like its sister company - Kia K3 (Cerato) have better spec.

I prefer City compare to Vios but too bad City don't have keyless else City would be my choice at this moment.

Don't shoot me, I still got assumption that Japanese Car is better than Korean Car in term of quality, reliability even FC

Altis 1.8E Vs Civic 1.8 Vs Civic Hybrid

Which One would you choose between Totoya Altis, Honda Civic and Honda City?

- Honda City - RM90980 (with VSC safety feature?)
- Altis 1.6E - (under power?)
- Altis 1.8E - RM 113,020.60 (Don't have VSC safety feature)
- Civic 1.8S - RM 115,980.00
- Civic Hybrid (high maintenance?)

Altis is famous for its reliability and fuel consumption (FC)?

Civic is famous for its styling and younger looks compare to Altis

Altis 1.6E (RM 106,617.00), under power? But the price is cheapest among the list above.

Civic Hybrid (RM 119,980.00) best FC among the list above, but will it require high maintenance fee and not so reliable in long run?
- Looks like should exclude Civic Hybrid as an option due to the following reason:
-> The Honda Civic Hybrid battery costs RM12,000 but there is a 15% discount for customers who buy from authorized dealers [Link] .
-> IMA Battery issue bring to court case [Link].

Will Altis have new model coming out next year (2014)?

That is no hope for cheaper car price as PR fail to move in Putra Jaya in GE13 ....

Any laptop recommendations under RM3K

Looking for new laptop under RM3k
- normal stuffs (seldom play games)
- Occasionally process photo (not need so high end)
- prefer long warranty period , ~ 3 years
- Preferable brand - Sony, Toshiba, HP
- Won't consider brand - Acer

Currently has 1 model in mind
• Sony VAIO (VPCEA45FG/W)
- Intel® Core™ i3-380M Processor 2.53GHz
- Cost around RM2699
- But with same budget, can get a better deal in other brand (can get i5 processor already)

I had Toshiba M200 currently, but it had power issue which need to take a long time to boot up windows, suspect motherboard problem, hence, plan to get a new one... Previously use Dell, but it seems quite easy to get hot...

Any recommendations?

ONKYO TXSR304 5.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver plus onkyo speaker and sub-woofer (onkyo SKS-HT330)
VS
Yamaha RX-V361 with its own speaker and sub-woofer (Yamaha NSP110)

Both are almost same price, which one will u go for ?

Any sound/HT sifu, could you please advise ?
