Trade Zone - new/used tag

Hello guys,

I have been wondering since LYN currently have already implemented tags for each sub forum in the Trade Zone, wouldn't it be beneficial to have a used/new tag as well? I know it might not be needed all the time but it sure save some time going through the list of items that I am interested in

Please let me know what you think

2 Router or 1 Bridge/1 Router

Personal equipment
Modem: Linksys AM300
Router: DLink Di 524

I have this dilemma since yesterday.
I am currently using my Linksys to enter my connection details (PPOE) while DLink set to auto configuration.
Should I turn my AM300 to modem(Bridge mode) only or continue using it as a router?

So my question here is that, which one is better?
Security wise or functionality wise

AMD Announces 9-watt Sempron 2100+

http://www.dailytech.com/AMD+Announces+9wa...article7505.htm

New Sempron for Socket S1 embedded and SBC systems

QUOTE

AMD today announced the latest addition to the embedded product lineup, the Sempron 2100+ processor. The new Sempron 2100+ has a thermal design power rating of nine watts[. With the low TDP rating, the Sempron 2100+ is ideal for fan-less embedded systems.

AMD packages the Sempron 2100+ in a Socket S1 package. The Sempron 2100+ is compatible with the AMD M690T chipset. The new Sempron 2100+ is the first embedded targeted processor from AMD to feature AMD64 technology.

"By expanding our product portfolio with this new, very low power version of the highly successful AMD Sempron processor and extending the temperature support in our Geode line, AMD is delivering on our promise of customer-centric innovation for a range of embedded markets," Embedded Computing Solutions Division Vice President Greg White said. "You will continue to see AMD offer our embedded customers the products and tools they need to get high performance, very low power products to market quickly."

Expect the Sempron 2100+ to make its way into embedded and SBCs. AAEON and Arbor offer boards compatible with the new processor.

That's really something

Ever wonder the sudden drop in Memory price?

http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=6016

QUOTE

U.S. government approaches $1-billion USD in fines from DRAM companies

In a settlement, Samsung agreed today to pay $90 million USD for participating in illegal DRAM price-fixing practices. Samsung and several other major DRAM companies were all caught up in bitter court ordeals involving business conspiracies that affected the bottom line for several major OEMs and system integrators. Originally Samsung was excluded from the list of manufacturers that faced lawsuits:

    * Elpida Memory (Japan)
    * Hynix Semiconductor (South Korea)
    * Infineon Technologies AG (Germany)
    * Micron Technology (USA)
    * Mosel Vitelic (Taiwan)
    * Nanya Technology Corp. (Taiwan)
    * NEC Electronics America (USA)

Despite being last to be on the list, there seems to be no escape for all the major DRAM companies. For all of 2006, Samsung was under heavy investigation, all while the fines were accumulating. In fact, the U.S. government fined a total of $731 million USD in 2006 for DRAM price-fixing. The price fixing scheme caused major OEMs to pay higher than normal prices for memory and those costs were then passed on to customers. Had all the major DRAM companies actually remained competitive, DRAM prices would have been lower.

Of the $90 million USD that Samsung must pay, $80 million of it will be returned back to those affected by the schemes, while the balance will be distributed among local and state government bodies. For Samsung, the new fine will be something familiar to the company.

In 2005, Samsung was ordered by the U.S. Department of Justice to pay roughly $300 million USD in a separate case.

Most of the above companies have not just faced the U.S. government in court, but also Rambus for patent infringement cases -- not coincidentally Rambus provided much of the key evidence against these DRAM manufacturers in this and other DRAM antitrust cases.

Late last year, Micron had claimed Rambus was not playing fair in the DRAM market and filed a suit against Rambus for abusive business practices. Interestingly, in August of last year, the FTC also claimed that Rambus unfairly monopolized the DRAM market. The FTC decided yesterday to heavily slash the royalties on certain DRAM that Rambus makes its licensees pay

I want back my money

Help! display problem

I don't know what is wrong with the display now , after about 9-10 hours of usage, my display would display black screen at some portion of the screen and my color quality reduce to 4 bit(lowest) as oppose to 32bit (default) and my resolution down to 640x480 and I cant adjust back the default 1280x1024.

To fix it, I need to restart my pc ,weird.

I suspect a few component here to be the culprit. As I already re-formatted my hdd, graphic driver should not be a problem here.

I am using an Enermax 370watt PSU along the Rig in my SIG. Not enough?

I am using 91.47 Nvidia driver

So the question here, what is wrong with my system

1) PSU
2) Graphic card / LCD = never give me problem last time when using my old Athlon 2000+ system
3) cables
4) driver
5) windows setting (less probability)
