Inconsistent petrol price at stations

I always pump Shell V-Power Racing, due to weekly price fluctuations I do not track the petrol price but I do keep the receipts in my Fuelly app.
These few weeks the petrol price has been consistent with no change on Wednesdays.

These are the fuel price (per liter) from my receipts (I always pump at the same station):
23 May: RM3.15
20 May: RM3.15
16 May: RM3.12
13 May: RM3.12
09 May: RM3.12
06 May: RM3.12
01 May: RM3.12

Note that the advertised petrol price is RM3.17 per liter for VPR as per paultan site.
I use my Bonuslink card but I do not remember Bonuslink gives any form of rebate other than clocking reward points.
I do not recall our petrol station gives any credit-card based discounts too.

A friend of mine just pumped VPR this morning at a different station and his receipt shows RM3.18 which is even higher than the advertised price.

Could it be every petrol station charge different fuel price?

Smart Tag installation on windscreen

Working in Singapore for 8 years, nowadays drive into JB quite often.

Curious to know... if installing Smart Tag permanently on the dashboard is safe? Many years back my friends advise not to do so as robbers may brake your windscreen and steal your T&G card... but won't it make more sense if they steal the whole car instead?
Measurement and size of rooms/ interior

Hi guys,

I hope this is not a stupid question .

Just bought a house, VP in 2015. The marketing materials and the SPA does not state the measurements of every room in the house, only stated the land size and build-up size in the floor plan.

The developer told me that I need to measure myself when I collect the keys. Alternatively they ask me to purchase the architect drawings from the architect firm, for RM150 but they also advised me not to get it now because there might be changes from now till VP.

I checked other projects from the same developer, some of the projects state the measurements in the floor plan (which is available on the project website) but the measurements are not available/ provided for my project.

Reason I asked this is because I am in the midst of doing my own ID with AutoCAD. I have drawn up the land size but cannot proceed further without the actual measurements of every room. With the room measurements at least I can plan out the furniture placement, lighting and power points, and even do 3D modelling on a virtual tour of the empty house.

My question is: can I obtain the room measurements from the developer prior to VP, or like the developer has said: get the measurements upon VP?

Thanks in advance.

Property launch date postponed, sign LO first?

Hi guys,

I have placed deposit for a property in JB now waiting for launch. I have also secured a pre-approved loan from the bank.

I was told that the launch date for my project is end of Oct, then was told early Nov. Then today I was told end of Nov. I spoke to my banker and she told me that my loan agreement is expiring soon and she wants me to sign the LO first.

What is the risk if I do that? And should I sign the LO before S&P?

Thanks all.
confused with MRTA interest rates

Hi guys I need some pointers here...

I'm getting my 1st house, a terrace house for around RM580k. Seeing that I do not want to burden my family if I pass away early, I decided to take up MRTA.

I was offered by 2 banks (30 years MRTA + 2 years deferment), Bank-A charges MRTA interest rate 4.2% and Bank-B other charges 7%.

End up Bank-B's MRTA cost RM3k more than Bank-A even though $$ insured is the same.

My loan interest rate is BLR-2.4 or BLR-2.45%... current BLR is 6.6% so I am looking at effective interest rate of 4.2% and 4.15%. I asked Bank-B why he impose 7% interest rate on MRTA but banker himself told me that this is the bank's practice.

I did a spreadsheet calculation and I realize that the sum insured is slightly higher for Bank-B... Bank-A's sum insured is very close to my reducing principal amount. In short if I go with Bank-B, my family will get extra cash (not a lot, few thousand only) on top of a fully-paid house if I pass away.

Is there any reason that I am not aware of? Or Bank-B just want to make extra bucks?

Macro Outing Invitation - KL Butterfly Park

QUOTE

Photography: Macro
Date: October 11, 2009
Time: 8:45am - lunch time as I am heading back to Singapore at 2pm
Pax: 5 max
What to bring: Your gears, and RM1.00
Fees: Just need to bring RM1 for your camera. I'll foot the RM5 entrance fee.

Hi guys,

I know most of you should be dead tired after today's Canon Marathon. Still, I am back in KL and I'll be going to Butterfly Park tomorrow morning (I'll be driving there from my house at Setapak area). I had limit the pax to 5 as I prefer to shoot in a smaller group. The entrance fee is RM5 per pax and RM1 for your camera, but I'll take care of the entrance free so you just have to pay RM1 for your gears. I am not rich enough to sponsor this outing 100%

Butterflies/ dragonflies are not that active in the morning so you can approach them easily without scaring them off. I guess any lens with short MFD should be sufficient to capture butterflies.

Take note that this is an outing; we all shall go our seperate ways when we enter the park. I do not recommend HERDING a.k.a. one group of photogs shooting at the same subject. Take note, this is an outing and NOT a model shoot. There are lots of butterflies, dragonflies and crickets around so please find your own subject. Of course I encourage knowledge sharing but no herding please.

No restriction on race, gender, and camera. I can fetch 4 more person so do PM me together with your contact number. Please sms me [deleted] to confirm your attendance and also arrange pickup if you need me to fetch you tomorrow morning

Participant list: (please copy this into your reply if you confirm attending)
1.
PC Shuts down randomly

My current sig:

AMD64 2800+ with Scythe Infinity and 120mm fan
DFI Infinity NF4x
Kingston DDR400 1GB x1
Maxtor 80GB SATA
MSI Geforce 6600 128MB / MSI x1950pro 256MB
Silverstone ST50F

Current temp according to EVEREST Home edition:
Motherboard: 49C
CPU: 44C
HDD: 50C

History:
Previously I was using a MSI K8N Neo3-F board with chapalang PSU. I bought a used DFI board to replace the MSI as I saw a lot of bulging caps on the MSI board. Everything went fine for 2 weeks then one day the whole computer freezes and when I turn it back on all my hard drives were empty. All data gone... I suspect it was my chapalang PSU so I replaced it with a ST50F. Eventually the "power failure" killed 2 of my Kingston 512MB DDR400.

Then after I changed to this ST50F I always encounter random shut down. It happens very frequently when I play games like C&C Tiberium Wars. Sometimes I could play for hours then only it shuts off; sometimes it just went "poof" when I was still at the loading screen. I suspect is my graphics card overheating so I bought a used x1950pro but the same problem still arise.

May I know what is happening? My motherboard is faulty? Please help!

STYLO KL Fashion Festival (Day #2, March 15, 2008)

My 2nd try on fashion photography (1st one was few years back, don't know which year's KLAFW taken with my ex Sony F828). I covered this glamorous event with 2 lenses: DA 12-24 and Tamron 70-300 (mostly at the 70-150mm safe range). ISO 400 was used, aperture priority with aperture set to f/5.6.

The biggest problem I faced is the drastic change of lighting (due to spotlights, flash fired from other photographers). I grabbed a seat at a slight angle from the catwalk so all my shots have this "angled" view instead. Somehow I do wish I have a constant f/2.8 telephoto (man... when will Tamron release its 70-200 f/2.8 K-mount? )

Lastly, special thanks to the organizers for giving me the chance to participate and enjoy myself in such event. I sure learnt a lot from other photographers there

Photo of the actual catwalk in the Fashion Cube

STYLO registration counter

Opening ceremony (featuring Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Nur Zahirah, Dato Nancy Yeoh)

Melinda Looi and her gorgeous models

p.s. Catwalk shots and the remaining photos are here: My Weblog.
Move on, or continue waiting...

I'll keep everything short... we had an argument last weekend, and it was quite intense until she said she wanna break up with me. I was in a terrible mood that time, and we just "break up" like that. However the next day I called her and beg her, and she said give her at least 2 weeks time to consider...

And to her, we'd actually broke up. This 2 weeks time is to allow her to change her mind, whether she will regret breaking up or not. I felt very miserable when I thought we're no more couples, according to her. I keep persuading her and beg her, even cried countless times... but she still thinks we'd broke up. After 2 days, I lost my senses and did something really bad to her... and hurt her deeply. I thought her parents might be able to help, but in the end I made everything worse. And she told me firmly... she doesn't want to continue this relationship anymore.

Days have passed... I really felt miserable and lonely. Its as if I was left alone in this world... helpless. I still tried to persuade her and beg her, but she doesn't want to change her mind. In the end she said it is better if we remain friends... since her decision was final, I have to accept it. And when I finally accepted this "friend" (we actually chatted on msn), she cried at her workplace... she said she's "not willing (不舍得)". I'm really reluctant to accept this ending... lovely couple to just friends... but her reactions told me: she still has feelings to me, and I still love her very much.

Now that we're friends, I still sms and call her everyday. She even sent an sms to me this morning... I still treat her very good (as I still treat her as my girlfriend)... she said I have changed after we broke up; but I really want her to know... I'd known my mistakes and I will change for her, because I'm still very much in love with her. The feeling towards her is still very strong...

And when I ask her... will we be couples again in future, she said maybe... time will tell. I'm 100% sure that she still loves me and miss me after we broke up, but that's her call; she wanted to breakup and I'd done everything... I wanted to move on and get to know new friends, yet I'm still hoping she will take back her words. If I choose to wait for her, god knows when she will accept me back...

[Discussion] IEMs vs full-size headphones

I'll start the ball rolling Feel free to contribute your experience too (w5k vs 716? MS2i vs 716/Mylar? )

Shure e4c and AKG Acoustics K701

Introduction:
I just acquired an immaculate pair of Shure e4c from our forumer cfim last weekend. This is the first pair of IEMs I ever own, so please bear with my shallow experience on IEMs especially in this review. In fact I never thought there would be one day IEMs become a necessity to me. Well, it all started when I accepted a job offer from a company at Cyberjaya, and from that day onwards I spend 4 hours in the bus on my workdays. Eventually I bought an iPod to satisfy my thirst for music, but its stock earbuds does not provide good isolation and I have to crank up the volume on my iPod to extreme levels just for the sake of drowning external noise. I told myself: I definitely need a pair of IEMs.

I'd tested the Mylars during our 2nd audiophile meet up, but they leave me too much to desire as I'd gotten too used to AKG's signature. Then I had a 5 minutes experience on the Shure e2c and AL IM716 at machines one month ago. I like the e2c very much as it has decent bass and good isolation; but it does not reveal much details. The IM716s on the other hand gave me sore ears when I walk out from Machines. But I do admit it sounded better than the e2c especially when it comes to details. Bass wise the e2c has more quantity but the 716 is more refined. However I did not consider the AL or Ety because I prefer IEMs that do not use filters. I almost bought the e2c but I would like to try out others like superfi.3 or UM1 before I commit my purchase. And when I notice there's someone selling a used pair of e4c, I consulted my financial advisor and she gave me the green light to proceed... lolz. Yup, I had never audition the e4c before; it's a blind purchase.

Setup:
Source: ESI Maya44 coaxial output -> Modded Zhaolu with LM6172s
Headamp: Modded HeeD Audio Canamp
** e4c has medium soft flex mounted

Review #1 - Comfort:
Frankly, I don't think there's anyway a pair of IEMs can match the comfort of a full-size headphone, especially circum-aural cans like the K701. It took me few days to get used to having rubber in my ears, not to mention there was once I got a soft flex stuck inside my left ear Nevertheless even after days of usage I'm still experiencing some mild discomfort.

Review #2 - SQ:
Here's the important part of the review. When compared with the K701, e4c has a very very confined soundstage. It creates a sound sphere inside my head, and the effect is very obvious on binaural recordings. I have a test track that simulates the sound of an airplane flying from extreme left to extreme right. It sounded uber impressive on my K701, but when I tested it on my e4c it was a totally different experience. The plane is actually flying inside my head, from my left eye to my right eye! I was like "wtf??" when I encounter this weird behavior. I couldn't accept it thus I picked some classical pieces and run them through my e4c. Tada! I have a mini orchestra playing inside my head. I still can pinpoint where is the cymbalist, violinist and other buggers, but it's certainly not as immersing as listening to the same track on my K701.

Other than the soundstage, I find the e4c loses a little in terms of details; maybe it is due to e4c having rolled-off treble. Bass wise the e4c has punchy bass but K701 performs even better. You know, K701's bass rocks my head but e4c only manage to shake my eardrums. The bass is definitely there but it is channeled in a different way. K701's bass hits hard and deep; you can actually feel it echoing deep into your head. For the e4c, it has same amount of bass too but I feel that the ripple just travel for a very short distance.

Review #3 - Miscellaneous:
First and foremost, I picked the e4c because most reviews show that it resembles Sennheiser's signature (and which it resembles closer to AKG signature). I find it partially true, albeit quite disappointed with the soundstage. The sole reason I got a pair of IEMs is isolation, and the e4c does meet my requirement. It sounded decent and I would say it resembles 60% of my K701, but then do remember that the e4c is a pair of IEM thus it has its limitations. It does irritate me with its weird soundstage but I'm slowly getting used to it. Nevertheless I do not regret this purchase as it exceeds my initial expectations. It is a different beast but it serves its purpose well; that's all I care about for an IEM.
