Hi guys,
I need some help/suggestion to set up a new PC. Going to lowyat tomoro to get these stuffs.
Budget would be +- 3K...

This is the spec I have been looking into, please tell me if there are better suggestions.
I refered pczonecomputer for the pricing and specs.

Processor : Intel i5 2400 - RM590

Motherboard : Intel BOXDH67CL - RM320
*Or anything similar, if possible Micro ATX, please suggest

RAM : KVR1333D3N9/2G x 2 - RM 70 x 2 = RM 140
*Is this enough ? Or should I go for more ?

NOW THIS IS WHERE I'M A LITTLE CONFUSED

Solid State Drive : Intel X-25M 80GB or Kingston SV100+ 96G or OCZ VERTEX 2 SATA II 3.5" SSD - Around RM 600
*Please suggest me in this coz I have no idea what to get.

Setting up a new PC Set

Hi guys,
I just decided to get myself a new set of PC since someone wanted to buy my current set.
Please check my specs and suggest me if there is a better alternative as I will be heading to Lowyat tomorrow.

Budget is RM 2000, or a little more for the LCD screen.
I don't need a graphic card as I don't play much games, but if you can suggest me a set within my budget I will consider.
I'm a Ubuntu user, and I just hope that Ubuntu installs perfectly without any driver problems. Of course I dual boot it Windows 7 as well.

Initially I was about to buy Intel i3 540 but after some discussion with friends they suggested me to go towards AMD since its cheaper then Intel and within my budget.
I'm totally OK with AMD since I'm using AMD now and it never let me down me so far.

So this is my new set specs, please check and give your suggestions.
(The pricing are from pczonecomputer but I might look for the cheapest when I'm in LowYat.)

Phenom II X4 945 RM450
Gigabyte GA880GM-UD2H RM349

Hardisk - Going to use my WD 250 GB for now until the solid state drive price goes down a bit - Plus I have a 1 TB Hardisk

Which amplifier goes well with multi effects ?

Hi guys,

I'm in a mode of buying a guitar amplifier. Been looking for quite some time.

I'm not really familiar with these amps and got no time to go and test it out.
I realize that many people in this forum suggest Vox Valvetronix which seems like a good deal.

Currently I have 3 amps on my mind, Line6 Spider IV, Marshall MG, and Vox Valvetronix.
I think I would be going for the 30W since its just for practicing and small jamming.

OK now the this is the part I need help in. I have a Pod X3 Live multi effects and it works great.

I have tried it on a Marshall MG30 and I usually input it in the CD-In input if I am using an amp model in my multi fx.
It sounds great but not really what I expect. Its not rich enough.
About Line 6 Spider IV, I have just heard the sound but never tested it before.
Never tried or heard a Vox Amp in my life..

Anyways, I don't need the effects or any fancy stuff on the amp itself.
I want something which sound good and rich and most importantly it must really get along with my multi effects.
Please suggest which amp I should go for. Suggest anything, even if its not any of these three amps.
And how to make full use of my multi effects with that amp.

What guitar pickups are good drive sound ?

Hi guys,
I'm just finding out a little more about guitar pickups. Planning on changing my guitar pickups but don't know which one to pick since there is too many.
I have an Ibanez Gio and currently still with its original pickups. The guitar is S-S-H, so I'm planning to change the Humbucker.

I saw quite a number of pickups but I'm a little worried that it will hum or give some different noises because I really don't want unwanted noises on my guitar. Currently my guitar gives me a good feel and doesn't give any unwanted noises, but wanna change the pickups to be a little more rock.

My style of playing is rock, so I want a pickup which is good for rock but not the really hard rock type. I like the drive sound like the Christian band's like Planet Shakers. I don't want it to sound bad when I'm playing power chords. Any suggestion and some tips ?

How to fix an electric guitar

Hey guys,
Someone just gave me a guitar which, they told me that it cannot be used.
I saw the bridge and the guitar frets were slightly bent.
Everything else looks just fine.

The brand of it is hofma.
Lets say I wanna fix this thing back with minimal cost.

I want to change the bridge, the pickups and the string turner.
My question is, is these items standard ??
Can I use any pickup ?? Any bridge ??
Is there a specific size or something ??

What are the things I need to take into consideration to fix this guitar back ??

I just assembled a new PC using a M2A-VM Mobo. I just have a simple prob.
I do not know how to match my casing's front panel audio panels with the mobo audio.

Hello, I'm new to lowyat's forum. So I hope you guys out there would really help me out.

I'm currently using :
Intel Pentium 4 2.8GHz
Intel Boards D865GBF
And other basic items

I also have a Intel Celeron 2.4GHz computer with a beautiful casing. So I would like to upgrade my celeron computer to a new AMD computer. I have never fixed a computer but I have a little knowledge on fixing a computer. I hope my AMD selection would be better than my current P4. I have to also consider my budget.

I would like to fix these items into my Celeron's casing.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core
ABIT NF-M2S
2 x 1Gb DDR2 PC800 Ram
A Maxtor 160 GB SATA Hard disk
A new DVD Burner
and other simple items.

I need advice on this. I have a casing with 24 pin - 450 W power supply. So is all these items compatible and can I fix it by myself. Please give me tips on fixing this items.
