Personal Antivirus

Last week my browser was hijacked & redirected to Personal Antivirus site when surfin facebook (while adding relatives..) Norton AV didn't even warn me. I have to close the browser using task manager (I'm afraid to click the close button). I deleted the cookies & did a full scan. Found nothing.

Yesterday the same senario happened (both times when adding relatives), this time on my brother's PC, but this time AVG Link Scanner blocked it.

so.. be xtra careful when browsing facebook & don't underestimate AVG

upgrade RAM/change OS

My laptop is so slow... I would like to upgrade my RAM 512mb DDR2 533 to 1GB/2GB DDR2 667. Is it possible different MHz?

One more question, does changing OS void warranty? I mean without upgrading the RAM.

btw my laptop is 1 month old acer 4315. celeron. OS vista basic.
